Tale of 2 purchases. First purchase was no problem at all, very happy with the pieces I got and the service from everyone at The Back Dorr. Second purchase has been a completely different story. I purchased an item, and paid for delivery- with the understanding that it would be delivered sometime in the next week, and they would let me know. A week later, after not hearing anything, I tried reaching out, which took several calls as their voicemail is full and wont take new messages. I finally got hold of the owner, who apologized, and told me she'd let me know the delivery date once she talked to her partner who does the deliveries. Better part of a week goes by with no further updates, and same voicemail issue, so I tried reaching out by email, using the addresses from their website, with no response back. This morning, I discovered they are still advertising on Craigslist the piece that I paid for on my second purchase, and that posting was updated 14 days AFTER I...
Read moreMy team recently moved to a different office, so we needed to get rid of a formerly wise purchase. I called around Fairfax and Falls Church, and eventually ended up speaking with Joni. She was absolutely the most helpful and easiest furniture distributor to speak with. She was very easy to talk to, provided 4 options (half of them not benefiting her) on how to handle getting the receptionist desk out of our office and into the possession of somebody who could get use out of it. My team and I appreciated her offer to drive out the next day to pick up the furniture within a days notice. After reviewing her website, I plan on making a trip out to her store. 5 out of 5, I recommend reaching out to Joni for furniture...
Read moreBroken foot on a stand for an antique full length mirror. I knew that it would be beyond my very limited skills, but we also did not want to pay more than what it might cost just to buy a new mirror. I brought it in and asked for a simple, non-ornate (and not matching) fix, and David offered me a fair price saying it would be ready in three weeks. When I described what I meant by "simple" he responded that I wouldn't just Frankenstein it (glue on a block of stained wood). It was two weeks later (one week early) that I got the call. David had made a great effort to capture the silhouette of the other three feet, and matched the color. The stand is firm and stable, and you have to study it to notice the difference. We are very happy with...
