Nestled in the heart of urban vibes and buzzing with upbeat energy, Pekoe Tea is not just a bubble tea spot—it's a destination for the senses.
Ambience:
Stepping into Pekoe Tea feels like entering a modern oasis. The ambiance is urban chic, with sleek, modern furniture. As your eyes wander, you can't help but be mesmerized by the massive LED screens that transport you to the bustling streets of Tokyo, adding a touch of cosmopolitan charm to your bubble tea experience. And let's not forget the stunning artificial cherry blossom tree that blooms majestically in the heart of the room.
But it's not just the ambiance that sets Pekoe Tea apart—it's the music that pulses through the air, setting the perfect soundtrack for your bubble tea escapade. With a closing time of 12am, Pekoe Tea beckons both day-dwellers and night owls alike, promising an experience that's as delightful in the daylight as it is under the stars.
Menu:
Now, let's talk about the star of the show: the bubble tea menu. At Pekoe Tea, innovation meets tradition, resulting in a tantalizing array of milk tea and fruit tea flavors that are anything but ordinary. From the moment you peruse the menu, the staff, with their infectious enthusiasm, guide you through a world of tantalizing options, encouraging you to sample to your heart's content. And oh, what a journey it is! With flavors like Thai Me Up (a delightful blend of Thai Milk Tea) and Mario & Luiy-chee (a whimsical fusion of Lychee), the options are as diverse as they are delicious.
But perhaps the crown jewel of Pekoe Tea's menu is the ingenious 2 in 1 split cup, which allows you to indulge in not one, but two flavors in a single order. It's a stroke of brilliance that ensures every visit is a new adventure, beckoning you to explore the depths of flavor with each sip.
As for my personal favorites, the Matcha Man stole the show with its bold, earthy notes and creamy texture, while the Thai Me Up and Mario & Luiy-chee combo danced on my taste buds, leaving me craving more with each sip.
In conclusion, Pekoe Tea isn't just a bubble tea spot—it's a haven for tea aficionados and adventurous souls alike. With its urban ambiance, innovative flavors, and passionate staff, it's easily the top-tier bubble tea spot in the northern Virginia area. So whether you're craving a midday pick-me-up or a late-night indulgence, make Pekoe Tea your next destination—it's an experience you won't soon forget. Cheers to many more...
Read moreThis is, hands down, the best boba I’ve had in my life and I am a boba fiend. I got the split cup! Super cute, I’m keeping it forever for all my indecisive drink needs.
Let’s start with the pearls — lightly sweet, on the smaller side, firm — so bouncy. They have that gorgeous chew that makes you want more.
Foxy Brown — so sweet, but not too sweet. The assam tea balances so nicely with the brown sugar, it doesn’t hurt your teeth but it gives that sugariness you want in a brown sugar flavor. It’s the best I’ve had, I finished it so quickly and my partner, who isn’t a fan of brown sugar boba, enjoyed it. ( he only got one sip, I was greedy. )
Pekoe Special — Earl grey is my favorite tea to just drink. I love an earl grey latte — it has that almost floral note with that incredible scent, it’s refreshing. With the honey peals? Incredible, an experience for the tongue I swear.
I can’t speak on the Thai tea my boyfriend got — I didn’t try it, it’s my least favorite thing on any tea menu. He loved it though, and he’s a bigger tea drinker than I am.
Give them a try!! I will say, I hope they tape their lids for the split cup for future deliveries — I’m not sure how secure it is, it survived the delivery for sure but I live close by. The split cup was upside down in the bag, no spills though!
( the store is also really cute! I’ve passed by a few times and I wanna go in and take pictures when I have time....
Read moreTLDR: Visited the store on 7/3. Great boba shop with a good atmosphere, spacious seating, and chill music. The overall quality of the boba, including its taste, is better than TeaDM, and Brandon provided excellent customer service with spot-on recommendations. I'll be coming here instead of TeaDM!
— I usually go to TeaDM, but I decided to try out this place because TeaDM can sometimes get crowded and loud, and the taste is inconsistent.
This shop has a good atmosphere, a large open space, plenty of seating, and chill music. It makes you feel like you can sit down and enjoy your drinks with friends due to the store’s comfy sofas.
In terms of boba taste, which is subjective to my personal preference, it is better than the TeaDM store down the street. I ordered six drinks, and they were all good (regular-medium sugar and light ice).
Most importantly, the customer service was excellent. Brandon provided great service with spot-on recommendations and detailed descriptions of the boba flavors. He also offered to fix any issues with the boba. Brandon takes pride in his work, and all six of my drinks were made quickly and well.
I will be going to this store instead...
