My experience has always been 50/50 at the Oakwood store . I have had wonderful customer service which is the reason for 3 stars. But I think it does depend on variable factors: who is working and how you look . There are only 2 really wonderful staff there who go out of their way to assist whoever walks in the door . There is one clerk who has NEVER even given me eye contact . I think that particular store has many consistent āregularsā. It seems that if they know you when you walk in the door then you will be readily greeted and offered help . HOWEVER, if they donāt know you AND if you arenāt dressed as nicely , then you may or not be helped without having to ask first . I have experienced that first hand a number of times . I had another very unfortunate experience recently . I hadnāt been in the store for awhile and had decided to run in to buy a pair of jeans - my dresser is filled with their jeans and leggings . I was not looking my best - had on a sweatshirt , jeans and tennis shoes . Even though there was at least one staff member not helping other customers, no one voluntarily offered to help me. It was truly another one of my self- service moments there . I ended up not buying anything and I did mention this to one of the clerks who had spent most of her time folding clothes the entire time I was in the store . So very sad considering how much money I give Talbots. š So I walked down the street to Chicoās where I am a Passport member and gave them my money...

I have been a long time (35 year )loyal customer and it was a beautiful Saturday morning, I Couldnāt wait to go run a few errands and I decided to stop at Talbots. What a mistakeā¦.what I encountered was 2 of the rudest employees . I spent an hour in the store shopping and trying on clothing. I fetched my own outfits time and time again neither ever asked if they could be of assistance except at one point a hanger fell on the floor and they noticed a noise. I felt like I had to apologize for dropping a hanger. ( did I mention that I was the only customer at the store?) itās no wonder people are choosing to shop online and at Amazon. At least the telephone representatives are friendly. Incidentally, I had an event to attend this evening and I told of my experience and was very surprised to hear from four or five other women that they have had the exact same treatment....
