Compared to others in the area - this will always be my Starbuck's of choice
I come here frequently during the week to work because of the people that typically hang out and work here as well - lots of business professionals, college students, young families, and older retirees. People frequently walk and bring their dogs too which is a nice treat if you're a dog person. It just feels more homey than other starbucks :)
Yes - it is busy like the other reviews mention, but I have noticed that they have hired more people so that it is fully staffed when busy. There is plenty of seating but it's usually all filled during early morning and late afternoon.
Even when they have been busy, they have always been welcoming and polite.
If you order before 10 or after 4 during the week, you're probably going to wait a bit longer because it picks up once kids are out of school and people start to leave work. Same thing on the weekends but I feel like that should be more obvious.
The picture is taken from the far left corner near the street. There is additional seating to the right on the other side of the doors and on the other side of the pick-up counter where the lights are along the wall. You may have to park a bit further down but it's usually easy to...
Read moreI just don't understand the 3-star review, with no reasons given for the 2-star reduction.
There aren't many "Stand Alone" Starbucks in the Dayton metro area. This is probably due to the contract with Kroger's and Barnes & Noble. Of the 4 I've frequented (1 by Meijer's near WSU, 1 across from Dayton Mall, 1 in the UD district, and this one), this is by far my favorite!
It's not that the drinks are any better, neither is it because of the service. These are all equivalent reasons why they are all good (don't bother with the ones in Kroger!). It's because of the room inside, the cleanliness factor, and the fact that they have a children's area in the back corner. My children love the area, and you don't see this "family-friendly" trait in many Starbucks or Seattle's Best Coffee (same company) anywhere in the world (and I lived in the Seattle area for some time!).
To boot, it's a nice place to go after eating in the area, whether it's C'est Tout!, The Oakwood Club, or other nearby establishments.
Kudos...
Read moreThis is a very busy Starbucks, but the staff have no sense or urgency and there is no leadership expediting the orders or tasking. I ordered a mobile order at 8:03am for 3 drinks and arrived at 8:13 when the app said they’d be ready. We didn’t get all of our drinks until 8:36am which was insane and I was late for work. The 6-7 staff members were joking around and absent-mindedly wiping the counters while over 35 people stood in the store waiting on drinks. The cashier told customers they were “backed up” while virtually no drinks were being made or made very slowly. They are not understaffed whatsoever. Maybe 2 employees made drinks while 4 other young members of staff were standing around making comments and looking at the customers like we are bothering them. The food came out quickly because the store has a designated hot food preparer.
I would suggest getting a competent manager to delegate tasks because most customers were leaving frustrated. I will just go to...
