Clear Canoeing and Rebecca were great! Communication and directions were clear, making it easy to find and meet up with each other at the Canoe launch. Her briefing beforehand was very descriptive and made it super easy to find all the best coves, extra spots along the river to check out if you're doing an extended rental (where you have better chances of seeing manatees and monkeys!) and she made sure to describe the entrance to the paddle trail on which it's easiest to return (as opposed to the river which has a stronger current). We all had an awesome time- my 63 yo mother, my 10yo son and I. We saw loads of awesome birds and 5 alligators! The trip was great. My mom, who was disappointed that the Crystal Bottom Boats were fully booked was very happy having this as an alternative, and having ridden on the boats in the past, felt that the Crystal Canoe experience was superior to the Crystal Bottom Boats. Clear Canoeing at Silver Springs State Park. We visited the park having watched an Alison Hammond Florida travel show in the UK and we were not disappointed. The park is magnificent and the river is crystal clear teeming with fish, turtles, alligators, all kinds of birds and we even spotted monkeys on the river bank. Sadly we didn’t see any Manatee’s but other canoeists did, so we’ll just have to try again. Rebecca from Clear Canoeing was attentive and provided detailed and clear guidance from entering the park and paying the small State Park and launch fees and then describing the river and directions. Rebecca detailed the route providing tips and pointers for a relaxing and enjoyable afternoon. I would strongly recommend a waterproof phone case as the water is so clear it’s possible to catch stunning underwater footage. The clear bottomed canoes provide an additional perspective making the trip that bit more enjoyable.
