The one star for "service" doesn't reflect on the staff or food. It is one star for the experience. The new for 2025 dining experience chagned the atmosphere of the place for us. I am disappointed because the food and staff have always checked all the right boxes, but after our last experience, we will probably drive 40 minutes to our old favorite place where we can sit down, order and dine like one should be able to do in a restaurant.
The pizza arrived and it was still very good. As we ate, the staff checked on us and we were offered drink refills. Great food, friendly staff but very disappointed about the new twist on service. I expect if new patrons don't know what the place was like before, they may not mind.
The “dine in” has been taken away and the experience is now counter service (like Five Guys or places like that). Yes, you can still sit and dine, but it just is not the same. We walked in Thursday and expected to be seated and were told we now order right at the register and then seat ourselves. I was incredulous and I may have even said out loud, “You’re kidding, right?”
We were told that the dining experience has indeed been changed. I asked if the Styrofoam and paper plates were a permanent change, too, and was told that it is. My wife and I ordered and then my daughter and son-in-law after us. At the register, you are prompted to “tip” on the line before any food or service has been given. (I have never appreciated that model). We were then handed a receipt and then our drinks and had to grab napkins and silverware from a box in front of the register. It all felt like a juggling act before first getting to a table. (I can’t imagine what that would be like if my kayak crew all showed up at once and we stood in a line out the door in front of the register each trying to order). Then we seated ourselves and waited. My Philly Cheesesteak arrived first in a hard plastic to-go box with an attached flip style top that I have to flip somewhere to one side or other to eat my food. With four at the table, a large pie pan, and other food, this doesn’t work. When I “dine in” I want to eat on a plate, not out of something I would expect from...
Read more10/ 30/22 Well here's another review . I was in the area decided I wanted a burger, the burger was absolutely delicious! That's the good news it was $12 and that was for the meat the bun a little bit of lettuce/tomato, and handful of waffle fries. Here's the bad news I asked for grilled onions on the burger, not a side, and they actually charged $1.50 for grilled onions, so glad I didn't ask for pickle! OMG For $12 customers expect that sauteed onions are typically a freebie, apparently everything is a la carte unless you get 1 of three or four other burgers that were listed on menu. There was no price listed for just a burger. The burger came to $15. That's a lot of money in my opinion, so because I was charged $1.50 for grilled onions on the burger, they have lost my business I will never go back and wrote this review. It is a shame because as I said the burger was delicious. Typically the test of a good diner in my opinion is if they can make a really good burger this one passed the test but their prices are ridiculous I get that everybody has to make a profit but that is absolutely ridiculous this is Ocala it's not New York. Good thing I know how to make a great burger, I'll be making mine at home.
1st review: First time going there ordered takeout and got a pepperoni pizza and the jumbo meatballs in marinara sauce with garlic bread. The meatballs were decent but not jumbo in any way. The pizza was meh & the pepperoni definitely had some bite to it and that was good. I would give a rating of 2.5 stars but that's not available. Parking is not the best, since it's on a busy corner, the restaurant was small but very nice, clean and had a small bar. Its definitely a locals place. My search continues for good pizza, this was not it. I won't...
Read moreFirst this place is open for dine in not sure why google says its not. I treated my mother to lunch here earlier today. Now in my opinion and have been to south Florida, central Florida, Northern Florida, and most areas of New York, this is the closest thing to authentic NY pizza, the flavor and the quality of the cheese, the service and the ambiance was as Guy Fieri would say on point! In fact this placed should be featured on Guy Fieri show. Upon walking in we were so welcomed by every single person there they were so friendly! The place exudes positive energy everywhere. You walk in the door and your greeted with a smile by the guy behind the counter and tells you to sit where you please as long as it has the sanitized condiments on the table in a metal ring. Our server was Julie she gave perfect attentive service she knows the right times to come and check on you, with out helicoptering over you. We also asked the lady Missy who is also a waitress there, we asked if we could get a to go box, since our waitress was helping other customers as she needed to. Missy was like our waitress again so friendly and helpful and glad to help. I liken there service to being on a luxury cruise. Julie also was cool with using fun I guess you would call them idioms. Its service the way its meant to be. In short I can not recommend this place enough. So its time to treat yourself right and treat yourself to whats real NY pizza. Lots of people say they have NY pizza and they always forget NY pizza has an oil. If you have ever been to NY you know...
