I want to be totally truthful with my experience with Silver City. We've had probably 4-5 ring resizing and or solder jobs over the past year or so. Of the say 5, 3 went great. No complaints or issues. One resizing resulted in a gem stone loss before even leaving with it. I get it, you made a ring smaller its liable to distort the housings that hold the gemstones. It was fixed free of charge, thank you. I am however, skeptical. Only because I'm not a professional. How do I actually know that the gemstone replacement, was in fact a diamond? I digress. (What do I know anyway) the second issue we've experienced, was a double band "accent ring" that was intended to fit around an engagement ring. We requested that it be modified to fit around a ring, it wasn't intended for. Again, I understand there were risks involved. Upon receiving the ring back after the work was done, it was clear that one of the rings was soldered "offset" to the other two. For whatever reason, it was extremely difficult trying to explain what we saw as "wrong." We did our best to explain, and gave the ring back for adjustment. One, of the two issues was the 3rd ring was offset to the right. The second issue was, because the ring was offset, there was a noticeable gap to one side of the 3rd ring. They claimed "we'll do our best, but it seems like it was done right the first time." I thank them, and leave it for a couple days. I went back to pick it up and the gap was perfect! Thank you! However the offset I mentioned earlier, was not fixed, and unfortunately closing that gap, made the offset, much more noticeable. I understand the frustration in dealing with me about these issues, but I could read the guys face and could tell in his voice, they didn't want me back to fix these issues....I was a looney. With a simple straight edge or even a hand drawn illustration, I could of explained my issues. But it was pretty easy to see, they simply didn't want to deal with my frustrations any longer. And again, I get it. I wasn't the best at explaining it at first. But oh well, its done now. And considering the last "judgemental" experience I've had, I may try another place. Maybe a closer place (silver city is...
Read moreLiterally just walked out of the shop and I’m writing this review while sitting in my car.
I had four watches that needed new batteries. They were not very expensive, but held sentimental value to me. I googled watch battery replacement and this was one of the options that popped up. I thought about going to the mall, but they are overpriced and i didn’t feel like walking all over the mall just to replace batteries.
Silver City replaced all four batteries for $5 each. There was barely any wait time. I got to the car and was about to sit down and set all the watches to the correct time and date only to discover that they’d already done that with no extra charge and without being asked!! I was very pleasantly surprised at that. The staff was very polite and professional.
I don’t know much about silver and gold and prices, but I do like hearing people putting in effort to offer good service. I wasnt deliberately trying to overhear (but it comes naturally due to my profession), but I could hear the owner(?) calling someone trying to get current information on an item so that he could offer fair pricing to a customer. I need to get some silver chains for some of the jewelry at my house. I’m definitely adding this place to my options.
Another perk: it’s in a decent location. Some jewelry shops turn out to be closer to pawn shops than jewelry shops and are located in some questionable areas. This is not...

We have been loyal customers of Silver City for over 12 years, trusting them with our jewelry repairs and maintenance. However, our recent experience was extremely disappointing.
In October 2024, we brought in my wife’s wedding ring to be cleaned and resized. Plus a bag full of other rings to be cleaned. The lady behind the plexiglass seemed to be in a rush, hurriedly passing a ring sizer through a small opening instead of sitting down and properly assisting my wife. When we got the ring back, it was too big! Her response? “Wear it for a while and see.”
Living 40 minutes away, we returned to address the issue, only to be told we would be charged again for their mistake. I explained that they should have taken the time to properly size the ring instead of rushing through the process.
To make matters worse, the three men we spoke to were incredibly cocky and dismissive. After this experience, we will not be returning to Silver City and will be sharing our dissatisfaction with others. This is no way to treat...
