I must share today after having frequented this business and having been very happy with the service offered by Laura in the past, how very frustrated, reduced and dismissed I felt today after visiting the store. I have purchased items there in the past. I even received some cute small animal planters as a gift and brought them in and purchased plants for the planters. Laura has always tended to my plants, especially my African Violets when they start to grow out. I was always thankful to bring them in to her and was always happy to pay for her services. Upon arriving with some plants stressed out from a move from Kissimmee to Summerfield, I was so thankful knowing I could bring them in to get them freshened up! Within seconds of walking into the store, Frank came around the counter grabbing a cart to escort me and my plants out the door as quickly as he could indicating with having new plants there and propagating plants, it was important not to have other "outside" plants brought into the store. Mind you this has never been the case before and nowhere in their advertising does it indicate they no longer provide this service! I felt like I had the plague or something and he had to get me out as soon as he could! He explained, once I was out the front door and no longer around any other patrons, that they no longer offer this service. I even said, "you mean I have lost my plant doctor?" and he simply said "yes". He said he could give me some direction on what to do with them while we stood outside and I very calmly took the box with the plants in it, said "Thank you" and turned to leave. Frank your rudeness and inability to provide caring customer service lost you a customer today. I'm glad your business is obviously thriving enough to cut out this service, but you failed to properly communicate it to your patrons and instead made me feel like a second class citizen. I would have gladly paid a higher cost for follow-up care of plants purchased at your business. I certainly hope, future customers/clients can have that option afforded to them after further consideration. Folks they have lovely items there but after today, my confidence in their service has been...
Read moreThe Peacock Cottage is a really cool plant store that is full of bright, colorful decorative plants and art. It felt like a pet store but for plants! It was well organized and hosts a variety of rooms that have racks of plants on display. The day we had chosen to come and visit they had an artist event on display. The artist was showcasing their newest pot designs while sharing cold refreshments and cookies! We decided to get a young Philodendron Pink Naomi as a gift for our parents for around twenty dollars. We recommend checking out this plant store and maybe find out about their social media for insights on the next upcoming events or artist meetups. Thank you for the wonderful...
Read moreI was searching for a unique orchid as a gift and a friend referred me to The Peacock Cottage in Ocala. This place is amazing...beautiful, unusual orchids at reasonable prices and so much more! A stunning variety of African violets, Christmas cacti, amaryllis, kalanchoe, succulents, and even Venus Fly Traps...and that's just scratching the surface! A huge selection of pots, potting mixtures, and accessories, too. This literally is a one-stop shop. Laura the owner was friendly and helpful, and offered to pot my newly-purchased orchids for me. Thank you -- I will...
