I have purchased jewelry from Mitchener and Farrand jewelers for over 27 years. They are my jewelers and my family’s jewelers.

Make a long story short, my husband asked me to marry him during that proposal, I asked where was my ring. He stated I don’t have one now but this gives you the chance to go out and select what you like within reason. Both of us were young and my husband had one year left to finish medical school and continue his duty with the US Army. So I was living in Oklahoma City during that time and I searched every jewelry store located in Oklahoma City and Norman. Looking for a jeweler who understood I was on a budget and I didn’t want the average ring I wanted something that was different and I wanted a pear shaped stone. I wanted a jeweler who was easy to work with they could explain the four C’s of a diamond and willing to design a ring that was one of a kind. After searching I found Mitchener and Farrand jewelers. They designed a one of a kind ring that was simply beautiful.

Over the years I have had Mitchener and Farrand design several of my rings. With stones and pearls I have collected throughout our travels.

Once my husband and I were on a cruise ship in the Caribbean. Most of the ships stop at Islands where they have international diamond exchange jewelers. Mark and Deann are not just voices on the radio. Deann answered the phone virtually every time I called the store. They are involved in every aspect of the transaction. As mentioned, I spoke to Deann and let her know what kind of diamond I was looking for. When she called me back and informed me she had some stones for me to look at, I could hear the excitement in her voice. She knew she had found exactly what I had described. When I arrived at the store a few days later to look at the diamonds, she saved the best for last. To say she hit the ball out of the park, would be a great understatement. She crushed it! Many of the things she had told me about that particular diamond, she had to repeat later, simply because I was in such awe of the diamond she was showing me, all I could think about is how great it would look on my lady’s finger. Simply put, Deann found a diamond that exceeded the image I had in my mind, and still kept me within my budget, and Mark made it look even better after it was set on a ring. This was my very first meeting with these two fine people, and I walked away feeling like they were life long friends. Such a wonderful couple!

What an amazing experience it is to buy a piece of jewelry from Mitchener-Farrand jewelers. My husband surprised me for our 45 th anniversary and took me to buy a ring at another Oklahoman owned jewelry store in North Park mall,and it was nothing but a disappointment. Upon arrival at Mitchener -Farrand, we were warmly greeted and helped by DeAnn, one of the owners. I told her we were looking for a sapphire ring. She showed us their beautiful selection of rings and was very patient as I looked them over and finally made a decision. She measured my finger and we asked how long it would be to get the ring sized. She asked us when we wanted it. I jokingly replied “ tonight”,( we had a weeks worth of run around about getting a ring sized at the other store ). She immediately said “ let me see how long it will take”. She took my ring to one of the jewelers, ( they actually have 4 jewelers on staff in their store) and it was on my finger in less than 15 minutes! While we were waiting her husband, Mark, the other owner came over and introduced himself and talked with us for several minutes. We had a very pleasant conversation . They also offered to clean my other jewelry while we waited. They are people who truly value their customers and take care of you in a very friendly and professional manner.
