Not great. There's about four building's worth of toys crammed into one small building. Stuff is heaped. Shelves line every wall up to the ceiling, the floors have bins or counters for more toys- but it's so tightly crammed in there that you can't really even look at anything, much less move around. You'll constantly be having to backtrack because the walls are so covered in stuff that you literally can't pass each other. If a fire started, the place would be incredibly difficult to escape from even if the doors are marked and especially if there were any other customers there.
Now the stuff they have in there, yeah it's awesome! It's difficult to really browse any of it because there's just so much of it, and a lot of it is in cabinets which I would assume are locked. Understandable, especially for rarer items, but frustrating since it's so difficult to navigate the shop I wouldn't want to bother going and asking for access. Organization isn't fantastic. Feels like an effort was made when first setting up, and then new stuff has been scattered around everywhere atop it. But it's generally clumped by type. There's no pricing on literally any of it though. Apparently the owner just looks stuff up on the fly on ebay, and charges whatever he happens to see there? We heard him doing that as we were leaving, and there being no pricing was incredibly off putting to begin with.2
On top of that, we dug into the reviews as we were headed to our next destination, and the guy who owns the place can be a real creep. Pretty much all of the low reviews (spanning multiple years and by different people) all mention harrassing sexual comments towards women, rude behavior, and off putting "humor". Seems like sometimes he's great, and sometimes he's a creep, and it probably depends on who or what gender you are. If we'd bothered to dig into the reviews before we came, we'd never have bothered going to the shop to begin with. Gross.
It wasn't a great experience being in the shop, and apparently it wasn't for a lot of other people as well. There's neat stuff to look at, and if you simply must get the experience of digging through boxes and seeing the toys in person, go for it I guess- although there's several other toy shops we went too in OKC where there was space to move around freely and browse, and with essentially the same merchandise. In my opinion it'd be better to save yourself the headache of trying to get around the building, fire risk, and potential harrassment from the owner, and just browse ebay or visit another store instead, where things have...
Read moreI went to this place not knowing what to expect. I just got back into buying toys, mostly Transformers. I thought this was going to be another run of the mill Toy and comic shop, but what I came across was something beyond I would ever expect from a place like this. Don't let the outside pics deceive you, this place is BIG! So big, it felt like a maze at times. Almost everything in the building was covered by toys. right down to the hallway. What's really great is how each room is organized by whatever brand you may have in mind, from Horror to even Star Wars. and literally everything is on sale! As if things couldn't get more interesting, everything doesn't have a price tag. Of course, this doesn't mean its free. Its done this way on purpose to basically go up to the store's owner Steve and give him whatever price you found of the item on Ebay and he will give you a price thats completely fair and shockingly cheaper than most sellers that would even dare to sell products like this. The biggest highlight was definitely getting to know the man behind it all, Steve. As soon as I walked through the door, he greeted me with a joke that took me completely off guard at first, which itself became a bit. Yet, never once did I felt like he was being mean spirited, but extremely funny. It takes sometime to get used to welcoming he is at first, but you'll quickly know that its all for fun and honestly makes your visit feel more genuine than you would at any store. He's still a business man of course, but you can tell he absolutely loves his job and getting know people who love toys as much as he does. He was so nice, he ended up letting me get the toy I was gonna pay for free. I still don't fully understand why, outside of possibly being a first time visiter, but I'm still extremely flattered by his generosity. In these troubling times where it feels like the world is only going to get worse before it gets better, Steve laughs back at it and reminds us that you're never too old to have fun. I absolutely loved visiting this place and I get wait to come back again soon. Highly...
Read moreI dont even know where to start...ok here is good so the wife and I surprised the kids with a trip to okc and had some extra time and I was surprised with a visit to toy base 10 which I have mentioned many many times before wanting to go so my amazement and shocked stayed with me walking into the door with steve greeting us as me and my squad of kids 4 total! The store itself is amazing and I could spend many many hours just casually going through everything but time limited me but also finding a gem that will forever be in my Ghostbuster collection! But also a simple transformer for my son. While trying to check out Steve is being Steve and cracking jokes with the girls and with the wife and at the end refused to charge us. You dont see this often anymore especially with the price inflation the world is going through. The items we picked out weren't worth alot but it's the fact that's money that he missed out on because he is just a very nice and caring man with a really good heart. My guess is he is a kid himself and sees that in some of the guess who visit. Christmas is coming up and be prepared because we will be back! Thank you for all...
