Ok Si Pollo Asados Al Carbón — Restaurant in Oklahoma City

OMG I love this place. I just got a burger instead of a pollo entero. It. Was. HUGE! Roasted Chile, Swiss, avocado, salada, and roasted Chile sauce on the side. I didn’t even touch the ketchup they sent.

Disclaimer: this place is delicious and worth every penny. But it’s not cheap. You get good quality from a local owner/cook at a fair price for the cost of charcoal and labor. A chicken dinner, the equivalent of a bucket and 2 sides at fried chicken chains, is around $22. I’m totally fine with it. It’s quality hassle free wholesome and nutritious; skinless and not dunked in oil. Tastes like I would make it.

Gripe: I wish the sides were bigger for the whole chicken because it’s a stretch for 3-4 peoples sides. And the side order to supplement makes it a somewhat pricey chicken dinner. I put veg medley and chicken bullion & herbs into an instant pot before I go.

Praise:The birds aren’t roided out so 1/4 to 1/2 chicken per person. The charcoal is present in every bite and the seasoning blend perfect. Dinners come with roasted salsa and don’t forget the jalapeño asado. You have to ask. The man spatchcocks the chickens so they stay together while cooking and partially deboned. It keeps all the juices in until he hacks them up into quarters or eighths. I’ll stop raving now. Just go get some chicken and try a quesoburgesa “cheeseburgers” if you’re considering fast food chains.

Best grilled chicken outside of my own it’s extremely flavorful without being too salty. Not bland at all. Comes with rice beans tortillas grilled jalapeños and some of the best salsa cremas I’ve ever tasted. The chicken flautas are delicious and have a nice presentation.
