I visited Chuck's back in December on.a dinner date with my son. I tried to tip the car hop and accidentally charged myself 35.00 extra, making my total 68.52. I did not catch it, but the lovely car hop did and came back out to alert me. I was again charged 35.00, making it even with the added tip and was told the 68.52 would credit back to my account. Upon my online bank statement showing no credit only deduction from my account I contacted the place of business. I spoke with a lady named Alicia. She took my information and told me I would be contacted. A couple weeks later I call back to touch base, due to thinking maybe holiday and New Year delays..I spoke to Alicia again and she asked me if I had the ticket number, I told her I don't know where it was but I would definitely look for it. Last night I found the two receipts from 12/17/22 and call this morning to speak to a manager, specifically Alicia. Initially I was told there wasn't a manager there and it would be about an hour. I explained my purpose and Melissa ended up getting on the phone. I told her I found the receipt and wasn't sure exactly what Alicia needed to help my situation. Melissa began looking up my transaction without the need of further information from me. Upon her research she continues to tell me they credited back my money. I asked her if she can give me proof of that credit back and she hung up in my face. I called back she hung up again. I called a third time and some one else answered. I said my name and to tell Melissa I'm on my way up there for a copy of proof. Melissa began yelling through the phone, "I'm right here!" I hung up. And drove up there. Melissa came and said there's no physical proof but she can show me the credit. I seen no transaction at all as proof of repayment. I told her I have proof where it was taken out on my phone, went to the car came back and she told me that wasn't good enough I needed physical proof to take to her boss. I asked why I couldn't speak to the boss? She said cause he ain't here, you got to catch him! My bank is one block from Chuck's! So I told her Ok! I'll be right back and I want my money back when I return. When I returned I was told Melissa was on the phone with their credit card dept. So I waited for her, she came to tell me the refund never happened and she wants to apologize for that, I told her I needed an apology from her, how she treated me over the phone, because I been calling for a month and no one (Alicia) has had a problem communicating with me! She refused saying I was ugly to her first! Then she asked me for both my receipts so she can refund me the correct amount, I showed her my bank statement, and said $68.52. She refunded my money and walked away as I said, Thank you, have a wonderful day. Had I not gone up there and jumped hurdles to prove myself, they would've not given me a call back. Let alone proof they refunded my money. Smh thanks for listening! Have a great day and put God first! This Chuck's location is in MWC on Midwest Blvd. I posted on the wrong store! But I will not be going back, Glad to know there's more than...
Read moreHELLO EVERYONE!!!! I'm Brandon and I'm a honest person. Now that that's out of the way I'm going to start by saying I used to work at Chuck house and the whole family (owners and employees) are absolutely amazing people! I didn't get paid the best but when I was the cook that didn't matter to me just becausei loved who I worked for! I'm also not complaining at all about the pay because I was good at what I did and I got paid more than people that's been there for way longer than me. I also took inventory, trained new cooks, I didn't cashier much but I could take people's orders. I remember being slow and I would take them make the orders.. okay so I see people complaining about the prices. Look at prices of everything! If the company that they buy produce from goes up on prices well guess what Chuck house is forced to do? Now as a past employee I put my heart into that place and the food! In the 9 years I worked there I can probably count on both hands how many times I've had food send back to be remade. I am excluding myself it it wasn't my fault and brought back lol. I really am exaggerating I messed up orders but my mission was to never have to remake anything so I put pride in the kitchen and seeing smiles on people face when they walk up to get their food was priceless. I loved sending the food out so fresh that they'll grab a little to eat while they're paying like a piece of fried okra and they chew it fast inhaling and exhaling fast because it burns! Not to be mean but if there's steam coming off it it's probably hot lol. So yes I do give Chuck house 5⭐ because it really depends on who's the cook if the food is good or not. The only way it wouldn't be if the food is out and just sitting for a long time because of busyness. If you're complaining about how long your food is taking and you ordered for 15 people or if you order chicken then that's made to order. So please understand a few things before getting all irate lol. Y'all have a good day and a...
Read moreWhen my mom—who has the pickiest eaters in the world (including my nephew, a certified corndog connoisseur)—told me about Chuck House, I knew it had to be good. Handmade corndogs? Not frozen, not from a bag, but made fresh? That alone got my attention.
So, when she invited me, I had to go. And let me tell you—this place delivers.
I always order my chicken-fried steak with gravy on the side because I like to see what I’m eating. No mystery meat hiding under a blanket of sauce. And Chuck House? They understood the assignment. That steak looked incredible—crispy, golden, and cooked to perfection. The mashed potatoes? Smooth, creamy, and not the sad, instant kind. And the gravy? Piping hot, served in a big ol’ bowl with two perfectly toasted slices of bread, which I happily dipped like I was performing a sacred ritual.
Mom got a corndog (even though she had already eaten, which tells you something), and it was just as good as she said. My drink was great, too—but be warned: refills are a self-serve situation. No one tells you this, so if you’re sitting there waiting for a top-off, don’t. Go get it yourself.
Now, let’s talk about the phones. Yes, there are phones at the tables. You press a button, it rings in the back, and eventually, someone picks up to take your request. Cool concept, but let’s talk etiquette—because after taking my order, they just hung up. No “Anything else?” No “Thanks for calling Chuck House, where your hunger meets its match!” Just click. A little abrupt, but hey, I survived. If they refine their phone etiquette, this place would be flawless.
Final verdict? The food is perfection. Service is fast, the chicken-fried steak is a masterpiece, and my nephew’s seal of approval on those corndogs says everything. Chuck House is now on my go-to list, and if you love comfort food done right, it should be...
