The quality of Amish furniture is usually good, the customer service of Amish Furniture Nebraska however leaves much to be desired. Kent (warehouse manager) did a fabulous job failing to follow through on any of the promises he made related to delivery times on multiple occasions. The first time our furniture was delivered it had an unacceptably large dent in the top and had to be sent back for repair. The new top isn't as nice as I had hoped for with a lot of unevenness between the boards. When speaking with Lisa on the phone, while the delivery guys were still in my home, I tried to explain my reluctance to pay the small remaining balance until my wife could visually inspect the new top. While condescendingly speaking down to me, she said the delivery guys would have to again remove the dresser from my second floor bedroom and return it to the store where we could visually inspect it and arrange a third delivery at our expense. Please understand my hesitation in paying the balance when the salesperson explained that this very expensive furniture doesn't come with any warranty but "the Amish stand behind their product". If you are planning on purchasing any furniture from Amish Furniture Nebraska, I would highly recommend you insist on inspecting the actual piece you will be getting at the store before delivery.
Re: Perhaps your sales staff should be made aware of the "store policy", since it was them who assured us when we made the purchase that we could come in and pay in person after the furniture was delivered, which we did the same day, all but a small portion due to the unacceptable condition of the dresser.
Being involved in a service industry, I understand that some situations require being handled differently due to their unique circumstances. For example: Having all the facts before addressing a customer in such a condescending way after they already paid 85% of a nearly $7,000.00 bill; when they had to rush out of work to get home because the warehouse/delivery manager says they will deliver and be gone by noon, but aren't even done by 12:30 making the customer late, and then get told that the furniture has to now be removed and taken back to the warehouse because they wanted to have their wife look at the condition of the "new" dresser top before paying their small remaining balance?
Disappointed...... that doesn't even begin to describe how I feel about this interaction.........more like...
Read moreIn November of 2021, my wife and I were looking for new living room furniture and decided to check out Amish Furniture of Nebraska in Elkhorn. We went to their showroom and found a couple of pieces that we liked, but they would have to be ordered. So we put down a moderate sum for those pieces and had them ordered. We were told it would be 3 to 4 months until they would be delivered due to the time it takes to manufacture and distribute. We waited nearly 11 months to receive our furniture.
In early October of 2022, we got a call that one of our pieces came in and was ready to be delivered. We were excited that they were finally done. When the Amish Furniture truck arrived I watched in anticipation to see our new recliner. They backed into my driveway, without a spotter, and the right rear corner of the truck contacted the right rear corner of our 2009 Mini Clubman. They continued to back up until they saw me yelling at them from the driveway. They stopped and pulled forward. The truck had damaged our Mini from the right rear corner up to the middle of the passenger side door. I was livid.
They pulled back out to park on the street and opened the back of the moving van and started getting the recliner out. As it was brought to the open back of the van I could tell it was the WRONG piece of furniture. I was getting increasingly more angry as it turns out they not only delivered the wrong item, they also destroyed our car.
They gave me the number of the owner, Lisa, and I called her. She was apologetic and seemed to want to make things right. We exchanged insurance and she asked us if we could do her a favor to minimize her company's liability in this unfortunate situation. Instead of getting a rental, she offered to let us borrow her car until we could get ours repaired or replaced. We agreed.
Then I found out from insurance that the damage to the car was greater than the actual monetary value of the car, so it was declared "totalled". I asked if there was a way to get it repaired anyway but since it was already declared totalled I could not. Note, during this time we still did not have the furniture we ordered 11 months prior. It would not be until the beginning of December 2022 that we finally got the sofa and recliner we had ordered.
In the meantime we had to buy a new car, when our 2009 Mini had been in perfect working order and was paid off. We will not be returning to Amish Furniture of...
Read moreWe purchased two outdoor patio sets. Mike, our salesman, was wonderful! We paid to have furniture delivered and was told it would be delivered and set up on our deck. That was written on our receipt. We were also told furniture would be ready in 6-8 weeks. After 8 weeks I called store and furniture was not quite ready. It would be two more weeks. On delivery day, two young men arrived a bit after four and begun taking furniture to deck. They were having issues putting furniture together and were calling the owner. My husband got some tools and helped them assemble the sectional-but not everything was tightened. They were calling the owner asking him advice on how to finish. All of a sudden they said they couldn’t get it done and had to leave. They stated the owner was yelling at them to leave and he would handle the assembly the next day. We had a mess in our deck and not all furniture on the deck. We were assured the owner will call us first thing the next morning to come out and complete assembly.
The next day. I called the store at 2 requesting a call back and after no call back I called again at 5:30. The owner answered and was unbelievably unprofessional, accusatory, and untruthful. His first comment to me was-what did I expect?! He first blamed the salesmen saying sometimes that guy over promises, he then blamed us for expecting the furniture to be put on deck and implied we were expecting some white glove service. I must have said ten times we only were expecting what we paid for and what we were promised! He even read what was written on our receipt. I was not out of line in our expectations. He then tried to blame his sons (the delivery guys) for not telling him he was supposed to call us THE OWNER KNEW THE JOB WAS UNFINISHED
After all of that, he then said they were busy and didn’t know when he could make it back out to our house! He (the owner) blamed everyone and took zero responsibility for an incomplete job. To make matters worse-he was so extremely rude!!!
We spent almost $15,000 and will never be shopping...
