Bumstead's Bicycles — Local services in Ontario

This review is long overdue, and for that, I do apologize to the owner of Bumstead. I took my bike about a year ago for a basic turn-up and some other minor adjustments. I should add that my bike is a costly road bike. Nonetheless, my bike had to stay there a little while, as other customers were ahead of me. An unforeseen accident happened to my bike while in the car of Bumstead. When I saw my bike, you can imagine my disbelief and that of the owners. These things do happen and are sometimes outside our control. I will say this: the shop owner went far and above to make things right. You won’t find this quality in many people these days. I’ve moved to LA and find myself too far to be a return customer, but if you’re in his area, I suggest supporting his business. The shop feels like a community, and the guys working there are always eager to help. Thanks again, Bumstead.

I went in on a Friday and talked to Lloyd the owner. I told him what bike I was looking for they had one. But asked me what I was gonna use it for and he suggested the Aventon Pace 500 in large. I test rode a medium version I was hooked. He had a large in box and said he would have it ready the next day. It was a great experience and with the purchase I got a free year of service. Everyone their was really helpful and one employee saw I was having trouble getting it into my vw sportswagen and helped take the wheel off and put a stopper in the brake pad so it wouldn’t get stuck. This is going back a few years but situation was i ordered a medium volume thrasher frame and parts online. Parts were on order but frame shipped out in a size small. No big deal right, ship back small get medium shipped back out. Lloyd charged me to ship out the correct size i ordered and paid for it with the payment for my parts on order, i only found out what was happening when i finally got the frame back, zero explanation on their mistake. Only got the correct size frame back no parts and the whole process took forever. Avoid at all costs. I didn't even get an apology just gaslighted me about the frame size and told me he shouldn't have sold...
