So sad to leave this bad review but I feel a responsibility to warn others. We had a great experience with this store a few years ago when we ordered a large, custom slipcovered sectional. We went back to them more recently to order another one for a different house. We gave them exact measurements and paid in full (over $10,000.) The sectional was delivered to the store in boxes and we moved them to our house outside the area. When we opened the boxes, we realized that the main corner piece of the sectional was too short. We doublechecked and confirmed we ordered the correct piece - somehow the store ordered the wrong one. We understand these mistakes can happen and let the store know right away. We had a number of calls with them and they said they were ordering the replacement etc... over a YEAR ago. We still have not received the correct piece. I think they are hoping we give up and live with their mistake. We called again today and they can't even confirm the replacement piece was ever ordered. We are stuck with a very expensive sectional that does not fit our space due to an error at the store level. I am stunned that this "high end" furniture store is not willing to correct their own mistake - especially with such an pricey piece - and with a repeat customer! There are too many great stores that provide excellent service to risk spending that kind of money with Coco Island. I do not recommend ordering anything at this store because they do not show a commitment to customer service - or even owning their own mistakes. We will never do business with this...
Read moreI bought this chair at the end of 2013 so it is 3.5 years old. It has been in a clean, dry upscale condo for its short life. About 2 months ago the fake leather of this chair began to peel and show the cloth underneath. Understanding that the chair is not under warranty I called Coco Island Furniture and asked for the item to be repaired at my expense. I was told that the manufacturer no longer produces this color and even if it were repaired it would cost more than simply buying a new chair. The problem is that a new chair costs $700, and this one costs $700 also. You can take this review ever how you want, but I'm the type of person that believes a recliner should last at least 10 years, especially if i spent $700 on it. Others may disagree with me, but I think that 3.5 years of life from a barely used recliner is far from enough. For the record, I gave Coco Island plenty of time to respond before posting this review. Apparently Coco Island is fine with leaving me left with a screwed up recliner that is just over 3 years old, so this review is my last resort. I won't be shopping at Coco Island Furniture ever, ever again. Now time to post this review on as many other review sites...
Read morePurchased a chair that would not fit thru the doorways of my new home. They would not take it back, which I totally understand, but would not offer me a store credit or do anything to help me out. In other words, there is no gray area with these people. Also, I found they are the only local furniture store that charges for delivery, so shop around. You will find the same quality furniture at better prices, with better customer service and FREE delivery in the area. I have a brand new 5-bedroom home to furnish and if they would have budged an inch or shown any compassion at all they could have got a lot of future business. I won’t...
