Love ace hardware but the Orange City store owner/manager, Tim McMillon, should really refrain from projecting his personal beliefs on his customers. Long story short, I bought a generator and never opened the box. The day after the storm that hit us I returned to the store to return it per their return policy that I confirmed with the cashier the day that I bought it. He felt the need to publicly shame me, front and center of the store, for trying to return a generator when others in the community are in need and haven't been able to buy one because they've been sold out. You would think that if anything, me returning a generator is a good thing because that allows someone else to buy and use it. Total unnecessary response to a customer who is within their right to return a product that...
Read moreI had to go out today and tune up my 20-year-old generator because we have a hurricane going to hit us in five days. I had to get a new spark plug, some straight 30 weight oil which is sometimes difficult to find now. Some fresh tires because the old ones wouldn't hold air anymore. And a couple of other tools to help me tune it up. I went into the store cuz this is the closest to my home. A young man came up to me and started helping me find everything I needed and I was pleasantly surprised I was able to get everything I needed in one store. That rarely happens for me and I thought I would send you a good note and let you know I really appreciate you saving a lot of my time from driving around. I put the generator all back together and it's running like it's brand new again. Thank...
Read moreThis location was "our Ace" for years before it was sold about a year ago. The staff was always knowledgeable and friendly. Since it was sold, service has gone down dramatically. All but one of the former staff was replaced. We're no longer greeted at the door - an Ace thing. Staff seem impatient with requests, the clerks often don't know the name of the products they're selling even though asked about something with the exact name printed on container.
We've since started driving about five miles away to the DeBary Ace. Highly recommended for being everything...
