I would personally recommend to research the problem yourself before wasting your time or money with Atchley Appliance Services in Orange City. This company sent a technician to our home (took them 5 days) to diagnose a problem with our washer. They charged $70, the technician was there 15 minutes, did not conduct any research into the error code that our washer was flashing - only stated that we would need to replace the main control board. The company took 2 days to call me back with an estimate for repair - over $500. They were not willing to credit me the cost of the service call for going with their company for the repair. The part only cost $200 - however they were marking it up to $320 to sell it to me. This is a much higher mark up than what is considered standard in the industry. We decided to do some research ourselves before investing that kind of money. The error code actually meant 1 of 3 things could have been wrong with the washer - if the technician would have researched the problem he would have known that. It cost us $20 to replace a particular part on the washer which repaired the problem. When we were replacing the part we noticed the pump had been disconnected - which we believe was done by the technician that came to diagnose the problem as it was connected prior to their service call. Do your research, don't be the victim of a company trying to get more money out of you than is necessary like we feel...
Read moreI Called service to ask for a circulation fan motor. Mine was making a terrible grinding sound. They said they had a motor in stock and it cost $70.00. I asked if it would be hard for a novice (all thumbs), to replace and that i had replaced an ice maker some time ago. Ha said i should be ok doing it. When i went in, fully prepared to pay for the part, two great repair men asked me several questions, to understand my situation. Ultimately they determined that i was overfilling (front to back) my freezer with food stuff. This was more than likely causing an ice buildup in, on and around the curculation fan and refigeration pipes behind the back panel enclosure of the freezer. Frankly, i did'nt want to believe them, something had to be broken. I know what i'm hearing, i thought, and when they said i did'nt need parts and i should simply defrost the freezer mopping out any access water, and keep 4 to 6 inches clear of food stuff in the back of all of the shelves. The icing problem and fan noise should stop, i decided to give their advice a try. Low and behold! A Eurika moment! IT STOPPED! No more noise! No more icing! No expense!😎 Who could ask for more from an appliance repair center than good cost saving advice? These people are first rate in my book! Thank U, Atchley...
Read moreI purchased a washer from them a few years ago (first time customer at that time) and so far so good. Fast forward to a couple weeks ago and purchased a refrigerator. Krysten was very helpful during the process, the delivery gentleman came and hooked up the new fridge (and waterline) and took out the old. Was in and out very quickly and very nice. Last night I came home and the fridge was not holding temp. I called first thing in the morning and less than 2 hours later Walter was on his way to my house to see what was wrong. Thank goodness it was a simple fix (relay) and now it is cooling. It was still under warranty. They were all very professional and treat and talk to you as people and not like dollar signs. They will forever have my business and I will recommending them if anyone is looking for any type of service they provide. I appreciate Walter going a bit above and beyond. Local family owned business's are the way to go! Thank...
