We stopped here for two nights while meeting up with friends. Blue Springs State Park is just 2 miles straight down the road from here. The main house is decorated in early american and is beautiful. We stayed in the Rose room and it fit ours needs. This room has a large bathroom with shower and spa tub, which was nice. The bed was comfy. The room had a tv with vcr/DVD player and Roku, though we didn't use them. There are 3 rooms in the main house, all on the second floor. There is a refrigerator and coffee area at the top of the stairs for guests to use. When we stayed, we were the only guests in the main house. There are cottages behind the main house, but we didn't venture back to check them out. We booked online and messaged the owners questions. We never met them face to face, although there is a housekeeper on the grounds. We had a very pleasant stay and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

I actually thought I had booked another room, but I wanted in the main house which I did get! I imagine all the rooms are great though! The rooms have names, I was in the green room. Since I didn't stay in the room I thought I had picked, I wish there was a way to confirm what room I was actually getting. The decorations and down stairs where do charming. Swing on front porch was awesome. The shower was huge (suggestion put different heads that can be adjusted for types of water flow) ( oh another suggestion. My bathroom was very dark and as a female I like better lighting for makeup, I had to set on bed by window for lighting). Coffee and sitting area was awesome! Had a cup every morning! I will stay here again. If you love old homes with charm, this is the place. Behind main house they had cottages for families too. Those also looked great.

Our second stay at Alling House. We enjoy the individual cottages rather than the beautiful Victorian home...the cottages have their own "personalities". We were in the Railroad Cottage. Cute. Quirky. And a wonderful front porch...complete with rockers for relaxing. The grounds are well kept. Fountains, fire pits, intimate seating options, hammocks...a great place to relax with a glass of wine. If you bring your bikes, you are well within riding distance to Blue Springs State Park...a fun place to see manatees in the cooler months. We enjoy spending time at Alling House.

Oh my goodness where do I start after getting a recommendation from a friend in Myrtle Beach to stay at her brother's little cabin down in Florida we decided to drive a few hours out of our way to do that, because it sounded so interesting. We arrived very late because we had a flat tire on the way. Were pretty grumpy when we got there and I wound up having to drive-through his grass to park my very long trailer and I worried that the owners would be furious with me in the morning. Not the case, He never said one word, he was so gracious and agreed that that was the thing to do. THE ROOM We had never had any idea that we would get such a beautiful cabin, when we opened the door My wife's jaw dropped at how spacious and beautiful the interior of the cabin was. We have never received so many amenities, even in 4 and 5 star hotels where we have stayed in the past. There was a huge king size 4 post bed, a small living room, a fully furnished kitchen with many included snacks, a large Whirlpool bathtub (unfortunately we did not get a chance to use it even though I needed it so bad) and a very super clean bathroom all decorated in a Victorian style. Needless to say I slept like a baby and then made myself get-up-and-get dressed so I could make breakfast at 9 o'clock and that in itself was a delightful treat, we ate pecan waffles, sausage, bacon and fresh fruit, coffee and juice Well enjoying the pleasant company of the owners. We talked long after breakfast about music, life, bed and breakfast business and the little miracles that God does for us. we hope to be able to be friends with them in the future. What a wonderful treat this place was!! I would recommend it to anyone, that you drive way out of your way to go there, stay a few days, but stay off the grass don't make my mistake and I'm sure they will enjoy...

I travel to orange city often to visit my son and this is my new go to! My first stay was in the Victorian cottage which was absolutely amazing! Very well stocked with a jet tub you don’t wanna miss out on! I love how each cottage has its own theme. We had an internet issue and they came first thing in the morning to fix the issue. Got to meet the owner and he was a great guy. The second stay was at the main house. I was just as shocked how beautiful the one room rental was. Private bathroom in the room with a jet tub as well! This time I stayed for an entire week so I would have preferred a cottage as there wasn’t access to a kitchen to cook, but still a lounge area with a fridge microwave and coffee provided every morning. There were 2 nights that I heard talking and thumping and doors opening and closing at very late hours of the night. I’m a night owl so it didn’t bother me and I figured sometimes you get guests that aren’t as quiet as others so I didn’t mention it. Probably would have bothered others more than myself. CAROL!! Carol the housekeeper, you’ll be privileged to run into her. She’s literally a gift from above. The sweetest person and great conversation. Asked me every morning if I needed anything! Gave me a float for the springs. Such a doll, make sure to leave her a tip! Thank you Alling house for making my stays in orange city great and I...

I would like to echo, agree with AND ADVISE any potential guests looking to rent. ADVICE: check out your accommodations BEFORE you rent. READ the following review from a previous renter: "I called last second to book a room, they accommodated which was very nice of them. When I arrived, the house was not what I was expecting, I still went to check out the room but the room was not private as advertised. There is about a 2-3 inch gap under the doors where you can hear everything going on. When I saw that I immediately let the staff know I did not want to stay here. They said they cannot do last second cancellations and kept all $255 for the two nights I did not stay there, or touch anything for that matter. The person on the phone was rude regarding the matter and unhelpful. I wouldn’t recommend staying here if it was the last hotel in DeLand."

These NEW owners offer NO BREAKFAST and will NOT REFUND any of your prepaid monies. I stayed one night AND could not wait to leave. PLACE is EXTREMELY DARK for entering the main house at night...dangerous. There was NO lighting in the parking area. ...DANGEROUS, especially for older renters ! These new owners are "income oriented" as they refuse to rebate any portion of prepaids for dissatisfied renters/customers. Their responses are riddled with excuses and...
