This is pretty self-explanatory and you’d think it’d be obvious, lol, but do not shop here without basic Spanish skills. My silly self took French in college so obviously I was very stressed when I was asking for help and didn’t know how to communicate with the workers. Once again, I’ll take the blame for that one because I don’t know what I was expecting there. Just be aware that to ask for locations of items, and to check out, they will ask you things in Spanish and answer in Spanish!! Shoutout to the lady behind me who got the vibes and helped me out at the register 🙏🏻

My only gripe with this store was the poor lighting, the confusing locations of items, and the CRAMPED spaces. An entire isle of spices was so cramped, you could only face one direction and it was super impossible to turn around and see the other spices behind you. The lighting was abysmal and the parking was nonexistent; once again, only one car at a time can really fit in between the spots which makes the parking lot so stressful to navigate. I parked behind another building and walked all the way to the store. I did go at a very busy time, but I think more parking would be ideal.

Now onto the pluses: cheap, cheap, cheap, with so much variety. Limes are a dollar a pound, whereas at Walmart, they’re 50 cents each. The peppers come in a large stock and they’re fairly cheap. The meat is straight from the butcher and pretty good quality.

Their bakery… god I can smell it now. It’s the first thing that greets you when you walk in. They serve the most delectable stuff. I bought some for my boyfriend and I and he said it tasted straight out of France. Their crème is insane and their pastries are so flaky and buttery. It’s cheap, too. Everyone in the store had a tray stocked full of baked goods. And they are fully stocked and always replenished.

About ACQUIRING them… this was fairly annoying and tedious, but you use tongs that hang low and near to the ground which feels kind of unsanitary. You stack them on a tray which you’re expected to hold along with all of your other groceries. You have to balance all of the goods while waiting in a long line and pray they don’t fall off. Not to mention the register is about three feet away and the entrance is also pretty close, so you’re constantly bumping and shuffling around one million people.

The experience was pretty overstimulating but worth...

El Mexicano market in Orem is a hidden gem for those who love authentic Mexican treats. One of the standout features of this market is their bakery, which offers a wide range of traditional Mexican pastries and bread. From sweet conchas to savory empanadas, there is something for everyone.

The bakery at El Mexicano market uses only the freshest ingredients and traditional recipes to create their baked goods. The pastries are always fluffy and light, and the bread has a perfect crispy crust with a soft, pillowy interior. The flavors are rich and authentic, and the aromas wafting through the bakery are simply divine.

In addition to their delicious baked goods, El Mexicano market also has an impressive selection of Mexican candies. From tamarindos to dulces de leche, the candy aisle is stocked with a wide variety of flavors and textures. Each candy is bursting with flavor, and many have a unique spicy kick that sets them apart from traditional American sweets.

Overall, El Mexicano market is a fantastic place to satisfy your sweet tooth and indulge in traditional Mexican treats. Whether you're a fan of baked goods or candy, you're sure to find something delicious at this market. I highly recommend stopping by the bakery and candy aisle on your next visit to El Mexicano...

I carry this place in a special place in my heart hahaha If you are that kind of people that it feels the last Coca Cola in the desert, this place is for you, the employees here gonna give you a special treat and gonna make you fell miserable jajaja they are super rude, especially the ones on the kitchen I have read in some reviews of this place, that if you don't speak Spanish they behave rude and discriminate, let me tell you that it doesn't matter if you speak Spanish, English or Chinese, they will discriminate against you and they will be rude in any way hahaha Now you may be wondering why the 5 stars, well the food is delicious, the taste is the closest thing to Mexican food, the bakery is something else, their jellies are incredible So, stand a little bit of bad attitude don't gonna kill you, believe me, the food it's amazing

And for the people on the kitchen, if you are reading this, please don’t spit on my food on my next visit,...

Update: Another visit, another success. Man I love this place. Still the best place for carne asada tacos. A quick lunch, paired with an ice cold Senorial Sangria. $1.50 per taco (now $2.00 as of 04/29/2023). Packed, and authentic. Reminds me of many trips for Street Tacos in TJ as a kid. Highly recommended. Get a large side of beans and large, fresh, store made tortillas to bring home. Their tamales are great, too!!! Pineapple muffins for dessert. I've tried a lot of places in the valley. You can find some good stuff. But nothing matches the authenticity of El Mexicano Market. Bolillo bread, Fruzel fruit jelly, authentic fresh house made tortillas. Yum.

Great store horrible restraunt. The cashiers are very nice and professional everytime that I come here. They have virtually everything in the store. The restaurant inside however is run by annoyed women who know nothing about customer service or manners. Would not eat there again but will continue to do my grocerie shopping here.
