Update: The owners response shows that they are compassionate and truly care about their plants and customers. While I am not looking to be reimbursed, I do just want to say that customer service this excellent is rare these days and I am blown away by their kindness. Thank you, truly. I will most definitely return in the future.
The nursery itself was beautiful! It was large and spread out nicely with such a great variety of plants. I found multiple amazing plants as well as some Pots. The prices there are great!! I love my African violet and the black sweet potato plant is so cool! We also got a watermelon pepperomia at a great price. The lady inside was very helpful.
The reason I’m leaving three stars is because I purchased a Black ruffle colocasia(one of my dream plants) that was full of spider mites. I knew from the start the plant was looking a little rough, but who doesn’t love a good rehab plant, it helps you appreciate it even more once it’s healthy. Now, I’m rather a novice in terms of plant pests, because before now, my plants haven’t had any. But the leaves looked a little suspicious like it was being affected by some kind of pest. I asked a different associate if she thought I should be concerned and she assured me they were just sun stressed and the residue was from their pesticides. I kept it quarantined from my plants at home but it shared a backseat with the 5 or 6 plants I’d purchased on my multi- nursery run. Anyway, this morning I took a look and sure enough I see the beginnings of a web and very tiny mites crawling around. I had to purchase neem oil and study up on the lengthy process of treating these creepy bugs. It’s just a huge hassle and I’m sincerely hoping the plant doesn’t die. I will say, however, the colocasia cleaned up pretty looking after an insecticidal bath and a shower.
I would shop here again due to prices and incredible selection, but I recommend thoroughly inspecting any plants you buy and not just trusting the...
Read moreLast year, my lawn service recommended Apenberry's for grass plugs. Based on my experience the first time, I returned four more times to get both indoor and outdoor plants as well as additional grass plugs. I stopped by again this week to get some perennials that would survive the Florida summer. (I'm originally from the MIdwest so I needed guidance from their experienced personnel.)
I was greeted by Deborah as she saw me exploring the various plants on the property. I pointed out some of my selections and she helped me determine which would best fit my needs. We discussed various "Florida friendly" plants as she called them, and I purchased several items based on the excellent prices and her input. I also went to look at their indoor plant selection given I had great success with my previous purchases from here. I again was assisted by Natalie. Last year, she helped me decide on the succulents I acquired as we both shared stories on how to care for these types of plants. I complimented her on her suggestion to use a spray bottle to lightly water the soil once a week and stated that both plants were thriving. This time, we discussed the lighting of the room where my purchase would reside, and she concurred with my selection. I also appreciate how the representatives walk you to your car and bring along paper to place inside the vehicle to prevent any spillage or mess.
In summary, there are so many great flowers and plants as well as grass varieties at Apenberry's. (Call ahead for grass plugs as they usually arrive Wednesday or Thursday.) They have planters for sale as well as indoor plants and succulents. Everyone is very helpful and knowledgeable at this location. There is also plenty of free parking right in front. I highly recommend Apenberry's Garden for quality products and excellent...
Read moreApenberry's has easily become my favorite local nursery to go to for all my garden needs. I love how friendly and helpful all the staff is here. They always go above and beyond for me whenever I stop in and answer all my questions about caring for the plants I am picking up. I have had nothing but success with all of the flowers, plants and herb starters I have purchased here. Everything seems so healthy and well taken care of. The prices here are also some of the best in the area that I have seen. They have anything you could need for your garden and outdoor spaces and the interior part of the store has gorgeous indoor plants and pots which I'm always a sucker for.
Places like Apenberry's are why I refuse to shop at big box stores for plants and garden supplies anymore. You cannot beat the quality, price, or care of the plants here and I highly recommend checking this place out if you love gardening and...
