I have nothing but wonderful things to say about The Lake Minnetonka Pet Wellness Center and The Westonka Animal Hospital. We have been taking our pets to both of these locations since 2008. While the staff has been great throughout the years, I need to point out Dr. Jackie Piepkorn in particular. We recently moved from Excelsior, MN where we have lived for many years. My beautiful, 15 year old cat Sushi has had some health problems in the last year that Dr. Jackie helped her through. One of my biggest concerns when we decided to move, was that we were going to have to find another vet to go to, because we would now be living over an hour away. To find a vet that would show the same love, care and compassion that she and I have always received. I also have to also mention, that Dr. Jackie really helped with advice on how to make the move as stress free as possible, for a older cat that has been anxious all of her life. Almost two weeks ago, Sushi started showing signs that she wasnāt feeling well, that she had a UTI. I hadnāt found a new vet yet, so I started calling around to local vets to see if I could get her in somewhere. All that I got was, we arenāt taking new clients or we are full. I understand these things, but I am new to the area, with no vet, very upset and really would have appreciated some compassion. I didnāt know what to do, so I called over to The Wellness Center, and explained the situation. The staff and Dr. Jackie were there for me and were able to send a prescription over to our pharmacy. Sushi is doing so much better and so am I! I think we have a vet nearby we may go to, but if need be, I will drive all the way to see Dr. Jackie and all the great staff! They went above and beyond, but then...

I brought her in, the technician came in no hello no Pat for Phoebe. Nothing she asked me sheās or peanut butter I wasnāt sure what she was talking about, but I donāt give Cheese to her and she only gets a little bit of peanut butter in her bone this technician,⦠Put a quarter cup of smeared peanut butter on the wall and Iām thinking oh this is not good. This is not good at all, and she proceeded to give Phoebe a rough shot her rabies shot,, I asked that she get her nails done. I had made that arrangement and it was just traumatic for me. I canāt even imagine. She also took another glob at least a quarter cup and smeared the peanut butter again and Iām going that is way too much peanut butter. I am so sorry. She ignored me, she cut Phoebeās nails now Iām thinking I am not happy. My baby is just licking this peanut butter and then she dips her an orange or yellow substance and I said she will lick this. No reply. I was so unhappy Iāve had other Bulldogs and a pitbull Chica and Henry that went there and it was not this management , I am so so unhappy about this experience and no wellness check up like they could care less. I am thinking what happened there I am still unhappy about this whole situation and kind of in shock. I mean, my baby sheās only four years old she had almost half a cup of peanut butter and I looked at that and itās soybean and sugar. Oh my God are you kidding me , not happy at all Goodbye shame on them. I remember when Shelly was the technician and she is still my friend. Iām telling you this place has changed. I am so...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDr. Shane Smith is amazing, as was the entire staff the we met while visiting the Lake Minnetonka Pet Wellness Center with our little dog Loki. Who else would sit right down on the floor with their little patients? Well without any hesitation, Dr. Smith did just that to help calm our little guy & to complete his exam. The two technicians who helped assist, Kelley & Jenna, were equally kind, patient & loving with Loki. Itās funny how much Loki picked up on the very āpositive vibeā perPETuated from inside those 4 walls as well. Upon initially arriving at the MTKA Pet Wellness Center, his little body began trembling. When his exam was over, we left our vehicle in the parking lot, went for about a mile walk on the trail. Shortly after we returned, we imagined Loki would jump right into the truck. Nope ⦠he walked right back up the few steps to the doorway of the place where all his new friends were. Guess he loves yāall as much as we do! ...
