My encounter with Lauren at Mainely Succulents was a bit ago. I am from out of state and had some questions about succulents as I "suc" at caring for anything plant. I had just lost my husband and needed an outlet. I found some babies on clearance and brought them home. I sent her messages and pictures and she was more than happy to edify me on my new found therapy and project. Fast Forward to now... I am in Maine at my recently deceased mothers. I couldn't bring my "babies" with me and this is my therapy. Caring for succulents. It's not easy, especially if you are me. I know where I can go to get something to get me through while I am here. Lauren hasn't only helped me with plants but, she has helped me learn patience and grace. That, in itself, is worth a plant. I’ve been going to this place since it opened where that little hair salon used to be in the basement on Mill Street. My partner and I love everything about this place, and Lauren is so lovely and nice to work with. I have several plants from Mainely Succulents that are still thriving years later. I’ve received several custom arrangements over the years made by them and the arrangements are always so creative and wonderful. I definitely prefer those plant arrangements to cut flowers. 🥰 My only complaint is that I don’t live close enough to go regularly anymore. Can’t wait to see the...

From fueling my obsession with succulents years ago, to fueling my obsession with house plants : Lauren is the ultimate plant girl and her shop is plant mom goals. It’s also the vibe you need for feeling enlightened or uplifted or just lighter. Every experience I’ve ever had with this business, the interaction ended with my smiling. I love this plant shop specifically because the owner really cares about the plants she offers as well as her customer’s experiences with plants so she is always so helpful, even after purchasing! I just wish I lived closer so I could visit way more often....
