Yamas Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Orono

I ordered steak tips medium and they came out rare. I kindly asked the waitress to take them to the kitchen and cook them a little more. The plate returned and it didn't appear they had done anything to cook the tips. I again brought it to the waitresses attention, at this point 2 of the 4 people in our party were done eating. The waitress said she didn't know what to do so we said that was okay, please send the manager over and we will talk to them. After waiting around 10 mins the manager came over to our table and was extremely rude. She informed me she had heard I had already sent them back and I clearly didn't understand what a medium rare steak was. I told her I didn't ask for a medium rare steak as the tips were raw and cold in the middle. She very rudely told me she would remove them from the bill. She then proceeded to bring our checks and was rude to the entire table. We will not be returning to this establishment and I hope they learn some customer service as I normally am not one to complain...

I can't even begin to tell you how disappointing this place was. I had my family meet me here for Taco Tuesday this evening. We arrived at 6:45pm and waited 20 mins before a server even addressed our table. 10 mins later we got finally got our drinks, and found out that they were all out of tacos. Yes, they were out of their Tuesday dinner special by 7pm. We were informed that they were so behind because the entire restaurant was only staffed with 3 servers (because it's slow in the winter time, despite it being almost May). After and hour and a half we received our food which was about the quality you would expect from a gas station convenience store. Nothing but excuses from the staff and no empathy or compensation. Very expensive for quality. Went there on a date night and were excited to try it. Our appetizer was AMAZING... oh my goodness, so good. We got these chicken jalapeno egg roll things. But our dinners were soft on taste. My husband got the Tuscan Steak Pasta and I got the Shrimp Scampi. We paid like $14-$16 for each dish and they weren't super large, regular size from a restaurant and they were lacking flavor. The Tuscan was better than the Scampi, but the Scampi was said to be a house favorite. It was more bar than restaurant and on the small size. For the price of the dishes I would expect a restaurant and better food or larger portions. We wont be going back because for that price we could eat better...
