Visiting the Kiwanda store tonight about 5:30pm… Just there to grab ice cream for my grand babies- pair of sweats for my son in law…I cannot believe the surly attitude we encountered from this employee… when I asked for management contact I was told they had no cards, no contact information, we asked for his name, he refused to give it to us. A nice young lady with long hair told us that “ Jeff & Mary would be here tomorrow”- they are the owners. We have been coming here for about twenty years- always have great experiences everywhere with everyone including this store until today sadly- I used to bring my children for ice cream and goodies and now my grandchildren, always trying to give back to this wonderful community. We know that this unhappy, inconvenienced and entitled child is an anomaly- hope someone gives him extra training in respect and customer service as this was so disappointing. Halibut tacos were sub-par, very fishy tasting. They were small street size tacos and 2 tacos cost $12. Also, the staff was beyond confused. I placed an order for quantity 2 of halibut tacos, they charged me for 2 orders, then made only 1 order. When they handed it to me and I checked and brought it to their attention, without even looking at the receipt they said, 'well, you only paid for one order.' I told them to check the receipt. I also purchased 1/2 lb. of fudge. The gal that prepared it passed it off to another gal to ring up. She just couldn't do it. So, she passed it off to a guy and told him 1.5 lbs. of fudge. They also insisted I sign a receipt after using Apple Pay. You don't do that, that's the point of contactless payment. They insisted. 5 stars for the ice cream. 0 star for the sandboard and sand sled rental in the corner. They DO NOT WORK. Totally waste of time, energy, and money. And the employees knew it! They gave me a piece of wax to put on bottom of the sled "to make it move better", which only made it worse. When I returned the sled and complained about it, the employee gave me a "yeah, I know" smile. When I asked about a refund, he said the manager had left for the day and he was not sure the manager would give a refund either. Another group got the sandboards and couldn't make them work either.
