Some things are very good at West's Like the peaches and some fruit including the apples. Their corn is excellent! BUT the lettuce was extremely disappointing this year. Last year I got ( throughout the summer) the best hearty field greens from them. The lady said they were grown by them and she really liked them also. This year I purchased 2 gallon bags of the field greens and they were terrible. I opened the bag 2 hours after I got home and a sour smell radiated from the bag. The smell of rotting lettuce. In the center of the bags the lettuce was slimy wet. I paid $6.00 for the 2 bags. I called them and they said bring them back and exchange them we jut put out 6 more bags. So I drove back there told the young cashier who I was and got two more bags which looked just like the previous bags. (The "use by" dates on the bags were really hard to read but said there was a full week yet so I took them. Went home opened the bag and had the same exact issue rotten slimy field greens mixed in and bad smell. I was really upset! I threw both bags in the garbage. I wasted my money and time and no fresh salad lettuce for dinner. They obviously didn't inspect the produce and continued to sell the same exact sub-par lettuce that that I previously bought and even called to complain about. After this experience I am very cautious about buying from West's. I have lived in this are for 42 years and go to all the farm stands regularly. There are many around our area and West' s is not my first choice. They can do...
Read moreThis is a great place to go to in the summer time when there are fresh Ohio crops available! I bought a sweet red onion, for the first time ever as I had never known there was such a thing! I used in a salad with homegrown tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and basil It was incredibly delicious! the homegrown corn was by far the best that I have seen all season, better than any of my local stores which have advertised the fact that they were selling Ohio grown corn. I had a great time shopping with my daughter, grandsons and husband, filling our carts with all kinds of homegrown, fresh fruits...
Read moreI love this place. The workers are friendly and knowledgeable. I appreciate the honesty of the owners as they will tell you what fruits and vegetables are home grown on their place or from where they ship it in from. The melons are the best. When the corn is ready there's no need to to shuck it before buying it because it's all perfect. Just grab it. $7 for corn is a lot of of money. In the fall the pumpkins are really nice and reasonably priced. They have a few giftable items. Jams jellies sauces. The best the homemade noodles you'll ever have. They have milk eggs and...
