Once Upon A Room — Local services in Palmetto

I would give this store 6 Stars if possible. Palmetto needs this store. This is a great place to find affordable, unique furniture (a lot distressed-farmhouse-coastal looks) and adorable decorations. I like how they have themed rooms--Coastal room, Christmas, a paint room (custom paints--beautiful paint choices). They have jewelry, hand towels, decorative pictures, all kinds of decorating pieces, and beautiful and unique furniture pieces. Seriously, one of the cutest stores in Palmetto, Bradenton, Sarasota area. This is a perfect place to customize your home with unique piece. I can't wait until they bring more their holiday collection in. Oh, they also have really nice owners who work there, and today I was doubting that I could fit the piece in my small SUV and one of the ladies was so nice and measured my car to see if it would fit and then she helped me get it into the car. Super friendly team! They also have a guy who will deliver as I inquired about that because I am interested in some of their larger pieces. So, they essentially have this house that they turned into an adorable store and either attached or next door, there is a huge warehouse/garage area with lots of choices in beautifully painted and decorated pieces. UPDATE March '25: After seeing the great job Colleen did painting 1 piece of furniture 10 months ago (see original review below in this review), we returned yesterday to drop off 2 end tables, a coffee table and ladder shelf for her to paint. She painted them Dark Ivy and did another beautiful job! Some pics below. While there Colleen found us the perfect wall painting after having no luck at Home Goods or At Home stores last week. This business is a gem! INITIAL REVIEW 10 MONTHS AGO: We have a large (76x19x30) older credenza that we wanted painted to change the color, and also cover a bare area on top where a fragrance diffuser had leaked and removed the stain. A neighbor of ours recommended Colleen as she had painted a piece of furniture for them. I had the pleasure of going here with a friend (over an hour's drive) recently. What a neat place! As a small business owner myself of REVAMP Holistic Health, I wanted to support a fellow small business. I was able to purchase some items for my clients. I know they will love the small soaps and lotions, perfect to make my Menopause clients feel loved. I know where to go to find just the right gifts, and plan to go again for unique furniture finds.
