The clam house has been a favorite of our family for many, many years. We went in around the time of the change of ownership and noticed a major difference. Again, this was at the time of the change of ownership so we excused all of the things that we experienced because of the circumstances. Tonight was our first night going back since then, which has been a considerable amount of time, 1+ years. The experience tonight was much the same, if not as bad as when we went in right after the change of ownership. The new owner is incredibly offputting. He treats his staff terribly, makes them super uncomfortable, which in turn makes patrons uncomfortable. I see other people mentioning this in the reviews so I know I’m not being a Karen because this is my second experience feeling this way. As a local business owner in the community, I would highly recommend treating your employees with dignity and respect and not hovering over them like they are incompetent. You could’ve been doing so much more as an owner to help your employees and your restaurant run better, besides ushering them around when they didn’t need you to, and it just made it uncomfortable for everybody.

I see you reply to other people who have said the same thing as me, that you are Greek and this is just the way that you are. But I suggest that you take advice from others and perhaps change this. The previous owners were amazing and nothing like you and I wish that they were still the owners.

In addition to the horrible customer service (strictly from the owner) and the cringe vibes that you brought to the table, the food is so much worse than it used to be. I thought the first time that we went there, after the change of recent ownership, that this was the reason. I see now, almost a year after the fact, that you have CLEARLY not kept up the quality of the food. We will not be back. Loyal customers for 10+ years and you have lost our business. YOU have. Not the restaurant, not your staff, but the owner. You should know that. And take it into consideration. DANIELLE, you’re a great waitress. You don’t deserve to be treated the way I saw you treated tonight. And I’m sure your fellow teammates are experiencing the same thing. I hope you find a job that treats you right. I am always looking...

I wrote a review 2 years ago about The Clam House while it was under different management. I wasn't a Happy Customer at the time. Today is a new story and I am so thankful that OUR HOMETOWN gathering and watering hole has returned even better than before. My wife and I have been waiting patiently for the re-opening and when we walked in for the first time we were blown away at how much hard work had been done. Its an absolute transformation. The sushi is the best in the county as far as I am concerned. The atmosphere, staff, drinks and food are amazing. Its nice having our spot back. Thank you Valanti for always having a smile and always greeting every guest as if they are the only ones there. Last night the bar was full there was a table of 15 or more and the high tops were packed, I believe most the outside area was full as well. We had Grouper Nuggets, Edamame, And probably 6 different rolls. I have had the Steak before and it was also very good. The Fresh fish is amazing, however because its so fresh it goes fast. If you come in late, you might not get the size your looking for because its first come, first serve. The Clam House Grouper is highly recommended. Its our regular stop at least once a week if not more. I also always refer all of my out of town clients there to show them a great time and meal. CONGRATS GUYS and KEEP UP...

We visited the Clam House two Saturdays ago. I thought I knew all the best kept secrets in the area but I was seriously wrong. I love the casual beach/ shore/sea atmosphere and decor. It was comfortable and relaxing. I told my husband I wished we lived in Palmetto because this would be my local bar when I needed to unwind. I tasted everyone’s food in our group of four. I agree with my husband that the salmon was the best I’ve ever tasted. That said, I am going to order the grilled scallops again. Soooo goooood. Another pleasant surprise- the cucumber salad. I’m not a cucumber gal but my friend convinced me to order it. It had an Asian flair that is hard to describe. My husband hates cucumbers but wants me to try to recreate the dressing. One last comment - the drinks are not watered down. The staff and owner were so engaged. They truly cared. My husband was so impressed with the hustle of the bus boy that he gave him a separate tip on the way out. I never leave reviews but wanted to share my experience because I can’t stop thinking about going back. (I just reread my review and realize that it sounds like I’ve been paid to write it. I wasn’t. Everyone may not feel like I do but there is a reason the Clam House there is a reason it is always busy. Thank goodness for the bar while we waited for...

Visited this GEM after passing by for 5 years without stopping in.. That was a HUGE mistake!! I am just completely blown away by the service, Maria was outstanding, friendly and helpful, then the food came out… We had sushi to start and if you are looking for fresh, delicious, may I say, best in the area sushi you cannot go wrong here. These monster rolls filled us up but we had to try the fish tacos and catch of the day platter. Just wow, is all we kept telling each other as we ate on. Best fish tacos we’ve had since moving here, manager stepped out to tell us the fish comes off the boat directly to him every day and let me tell you it shows. I was craving ā€œfish n chipsā€ which isn’t exactly on the menu but just order the catch of the day fried and you won’t be disappointed. Grouper for me with thick fries and hush puppies. Nothing was greasy cooked and flavored to perfection. Did I mention Maria? That girl was amazing, smile on her face and so happy to be helping us out. We loved her! Don’t wait people this place is going to be our new favorite. Kudos!

Visited the Clam House for the first time to try something new in the area. It’s a bit of a tucked away place off any main streets, but it seems pretty well known by the locals. The place itself is cute with a lot of beachy decor. The outside seating was also nice, with a covered patio and fans blowing for a breeze. Our waitress was also friendly and attentive. In terms of food, we ordered a sushi roll as an appetizer and it was fresh and delicious. We also ordered coconut shrimp, scallops and hush puppies. The shrimp was fried crispy and flavorful, while the scallops were grilled nicely. Hush puppies were decent. Portion sizes were fair, but not overly generous. Our only gripe (reason for 4 stars) was a hair that we found in the tartar sauce - pretty unappealing. Other than that, this was a good place for dinner and we’re glad we tried it out.

The Clam House serves some of the best seafood I’ve had in the Sarasota/Palmetto/Bradenton area! I HIGHLY recommend ordering the fish of your choice (grouper is a great option) and ordering it the Clam House Style way. It’s battered in a wine and garlic sauce sautĆ©ed with tomatoes and spinach and boy oh boy, can you taste all of these ingredients to the max. It melts so wonderfully in your mouth. The redfish is also a great option. The sushi menu is awesome and presentation is beautiful. I ordered the Volcano Roll which is their spiciest roll but is not spicy AT ALL. However, when I return I will certainly order a fish of my choice and go that route for myself! The service was impeccable and extremely speedy. I wish I remembered our waitresses name. The outdoor seating ambience is perfect for any get together with family and friends.
