We’ve been thinking about stopping here for a while, and finally did last night. Restaurant was clean and well-decorated but not terribly busy. As far as the food, it wasn’t the worst, but my general tso‘s chicken was tough and chewy, and the sauce was really thick. The gyoza, pad thai, and fried rice were pretty decent. There were some pretty big customer service misses, though. For instance, we came in with a toddler but weren’t offered a kids’ menu and didn’t see one on the regular menu. This isn’t a restaurant (or in an area) that appears to be exclusive, and there were other families with small children there, so we didn’t feel out of place expecting there to be more family-friendly options. In the absence of children’s food options, my wife asked if she could get a small portion of fried rice for our daughter and was informed that at dinner only the $16 dinner portion would be served. The lunch portion wasn’t even made an option for our two-year-old. I mean, come on, you can’t just use a smaller serving spoon?
Then when our mains came out, the fried rice didn’t. No explanation was given, just “Here you go” and the server split so quick we couldn’t even ask about our rice. When she came back to refill our water fifteen minutes later my wife asked about our fried rice and we were told it was coming. It was another five minutes or so.
So definitely some room for...
Read moreThis was our first time visiting this restaurant, and from the outside, it doesn't look like it's going to be good at all. It's in this tiny strip mall with maybe 5 or 6 small stores in it, and the area leaves a lot to be desired. It's just not appealing outside whatsoever, however, inside the restaurant looks great and is typical of all Thai/Sushi restaurants. The food was so delicious and the service was awesome, too. I have passed this place many times without ever giving it any consideration because of the location it's in, but now that I know how good it is, we will all definitely be going back.
Also, they are open for lunch and then they close for a few hours until they open back up for dinner, usually at 5pm but please don't hold me to that, so you'll need to check their times before you go. However, on this particular day they did open at 5pm, and we arrived as soon as they opened the door, which proved to be a very good thing because even though it was early evening on a Wednesday, they were PACKED. People just kept coming in one after another, so it is clear that reservations are probably smart, even on a weekday. Overall this place was great, and we will definitely be...
Read moreThis restaurant came up in my community Facebook page and decided to give it a try because the sushi in the Parrish, Ellenton and Bradenton area is just do mundane. We got there about 30 minutes before closing their lunch time shift. Many restaurants make you feel rushed when you walk in almost to the point they are standing over you while your eating to push you to eat faster. Not here. We did not feel pressured to hurry up and order. They have delicious Thai tea.
The server suggested the Bento lunch because we were getting two rolls each at about $7/each. I think it was $12.95 and came with soup, salad and a spring roll and 2 rolls. The sushi was very fresh . I am a stickler for cold , crisp veggies and the warmth of a tempura battered shrimp or fish. Hideko delivered both. I always seen alot of cars in this little Palmetto shopping strip, I now know it must be for them. We definitely will be back...
