When I was finally seen the eye technician wasn't terrribly friendly, and did virtually everything for the appointment, including measuring the prescription for glasses. After Dr. Long came in, she noticed a 60-degree discrepancy on one of the measurements written between the automatic measuring tool and the manual one, and called the tech in to figure out what went wrong. After figuring out where the discrepancy came from, Dr. Long repremanded the tech in front of me, which I considered very unprofessional. I asked if we shouldn't re-do the whole measurement just to make sure, and Dr. Long said she was confidant the prescription was correct now.
After the rest of the exam Dr. Long didn't go over what exactly was wrong or how bad my eyesight was (20/30, 20/40, 20/50, near-sighted, far sighted,astigmatism?), but all she said was with glasses my eyesight would be better, and otherwise my eyes were fine.
We then left and she signed a printed prescription. Halfway to the car I noticed that one of the numbers on the form was the one Dr. Long and the tech finally determined was the incorrect one! Dr. Long didn't even read the prescription to make sure it was correct. I go back in and see the tech, and inform her of the incorrect prescription. She takes me to the back again and has me sit down while she finds Dr. Long. The tech then comes back 5 minutes later with the same prescription and the bad number scratched out and the correct one written in and initialed. No apology by Dr. Long, no offer to re-do the measurements, nothing. After leaving I had absolutely no confidence in the prescription I had. I will never use this...
Read moreI wake up every morning with sometimes white & sometimes yellow goopy/matted shut eyes since Oct 2024. Having made several trips to the ER and my PCP, I was told to see an ophthalmologist. It took me 2 months to get a new patient appointment and I arrived 45 min early for my appointment! The ladies at the front desk are absolutely amazing and have phenomenal personalities! But after I was put in a room & Dr. Brian Planchard came in, he mocked me because I jumped when he touched my eye lid. (I had already told him it was hurting) Tension in the room continued to escalate as I was mocked again because I was crying. I have NEVER been so mistreated and disrespected by a doctor! I will not lie-I snapped at him for having poor bedside manners and when he returned to the room, I did apologize for snapping at him and he kept on saying mean things to me. At that point I was done and walked out of that office bawling my eyes out! Long story short…….. I was told there was nothing wrong with my eyes, so I guess it’s normal to wake up daily with matted shut eyes, on and off blurry vision or a bleeding/painful eye lid at...

I, however, would like to do the opposite with this amazing Eye Care Office. I was promtply received by the Optomitrist Tech, after checking in, who proceeded to give me a cursery eye examination and give me a complete battery of tests to check the current condition of my eyes. She was friendly, kind, personable, present, and knowledgeable.
She guided me to teh doctors examin room where the Eye doctor completed the exam after my eye dialation had fully opened my eye so he could check for cataracts and other abnormalities that could negatively affect my vision.
I have been to other Eye Doctors, where I incurred a long wait just to see a doctor. If you want fast, efficient, easy, friendly and knowlegeable...I urge you to see the team in Dr. Ben Hastey's office. don't wait, your eyes are way...
