I'll preface this review by saying that this is my son's favorite Indian restaurant in the Panama City area, and I am not a fan of Indian food. So, when you read this review, keep that in mind!
I ordered the mango chicken and was really happy they offered an option to order it "baby hot" which is supposed to be not hot at all. However Baby hot was too hot for me and it was too hot for my dad! We both expected that baby hot would pretty much not be hot at all, but whatever the spice is is spicy to my dad and I.
The other members of our party, who are fans of Indian food, ordered their food mild and medium. Of course, both of them loved their food! I like that they offer bread baskets to go with the food.
We ordered a variety of breads including a rosemary bread, garlic bread, a butter bread, and I forgot the one other kind of bread! My favorite was the garlic bread. Most all of the bread got eaten.
Each of the dishes is served with a large bowl of white rice and an empty plate. You can spoon out as much of the rice as you want and then put your meat dish choice or vegetarian dish choice on top. It was great for being able to dish out the amount you want to eat at the time, and then you can take the rest as leftovers!
When we were there, the place was not busy at all. So it was awesome for being able to just sit and visit and not feel rushed at all. The staff was very attentive to us and overall we had a good experience.
The atmosphere is different, because the restaurant is to the side of the grocery market. So the grocery store is the main thing, and the restaurant part is just a side thing. They certainly have plenty of options on their menu though! So even if the restaurant is a small portion of the overall building and the grocery store, it is not a limited menu by any stretch.
We will come again, and I may ask them at that time if I can get whatever dish I order with no spices! Oh, and you will be happy to know, if you are a vegetarian, that they have plenty of vegetarian options on...
Read moreSince this restaurant is only one of the two or three Indian restaurant near Panama City, people go there with high expectations and atmosphere. If you're ordering online, please go head and this review doesn't concern you.
We went for dining at around 8pm after calling beforehand to check if they accept orders and able dine in. But, it was packed with so many people and orders. But, the guy at the counter (he was everywhere from kitchen to counter to waiting) said we will have our orders ready soon if we choose options he mentioned like biriyani and curries. He also also told everyone during the order that we may experience delays. So can't blame him. Finally got our food and take out container though we were dining in. I ordered paneer butter masala and it came great, but the butter naan felt like roti (might have mixed up with that many orders). Most of the staff ( there were only 4 staffs including chef based on the scene) were busy with orders so nobody were able to provide water or cutlery on time. Most food were cooked together for the piled up order reason and hence the biriyani my friend not came to our expectations.
Since the restaurant is mainly designed for take out and located within the grocery store, there is not much space for dine in. Probably can accomodate around 20 people and the tables are packed together. Hence ambience and dine in atmosphere is not up to the mark. Seriously understaffed (may be they were not prepared for holiday rush for dinner) and needs better management. Like a announcement at airport, expect delays during holidays. Not a place to bring date
Note to the person replying to reviews: you should learn to understand criticism and reply in a better way rather than threatening them to post videos and calculating their order total form review. Also, recent reviews are not good for you. If you're deleting them, people will start posting them in social media and yelp, so better to improve service...
Read moreWas excited to try this recently but left incredibly disappointed in the flavor of the four different entrees we tried.
The biggest frustration was that clearly they had used campbells condensed tomato soup in the chicken tikka massala, and that’s all it tasted of.
That’s totally unacceptable. I was hoping for a genuine flavor experience, and feel cheated and ripped off.
Shame.
Response from the owner: Thanks for your review. Feel your review is biased one and adding comments like "you are sure that campbells soup has been used", which is completely baseless and incorrect. We start every single dish cooked per order. Next time during your visit, let one of our staff know and we are happy to give walk through to show that your comment is inaccurate. Not sure about the intention of the comment. We are closed only on tuesdays, rest all days we are open. Our Tikka Masala is the popular in town and one of the top most item sold.
People read all of your other comments about the places and comments about our restaurant knows intention of the comment.
Additional feedback: There is absolutely no question whatsoever that Campbells tomato soup was used in that dish. It's not a comment I left to be biased in any way, it's a statement of fact.
You also say "you are not sure about the intention of the comment". This is an accurate review based on my real experience, so the intention is to give you feedback as the business, and let others know about my experience. No more, no less.
I hope you remain busy, I like to see local businesses succeed - which is why we spent almost $100 with you, and i will continue to shop in your grocery store.
However, adding tomato soup to your dishes will guarantee I will never spend more money in your restaurant again, and it is very telling how you have...
