If I could rate the store lower I would. I went to ship a package out. I had the item in the box and a label on my phone. I go print the label and it doesnāt come out right, I noticed but I followed the printing instructions. Thereās this short rude man in the shipping and printing department who comes to help me at the counter. He tapes up the box and looks at the label sighs and looks back at me a few times. I ask if the cut off bottom of the print is a problem. He tells me itās wrong go print it again. Thatās a bit frustrating because I just printed the label out over there per his request now it wrong; but itās ok.
I ask whatās wrong with the label and how to fix it. He has me pull up the label on my phone it takes me a minute and heās tapping on the counter, rolling his eyes, looking around (just being impatient but it didnāt take me too long). Heās like āthereās your problem the file you saved is wrongā. Iām like ok and pull up the original off the link the website gave me. Heās like āthatās wrongāand goes to walk away. Before he does Iām like let me try to trouble shoot, heās like ok.
I make a call, I end up figuring out how to get more of the label to see the tracking id and some of the second barcode he needed. Iām waiting still by the counter for him to return to me. As Iām waiting, I see him being rude to his tall black coworker, but Iām minding my business. Iām finally able to wave him over (waiting while he did whatever despite how long it took didnāt bother me).
He comes back over I show him what I got and he just goes āNoā. I start asking if there is anyway to trouble shoot such as pulling up a new label based on the information and barcodes provided. He cuts me off to be mean and rude, saying no me and my phone are the problem he canāt troubleshoot that. He said a little more but I started shutting down at that point because it was just so rude for no reason and I was doing my best to be polite and patient.
I was trying my best not to but I start crying a little so I quickly say thank you and walked out. I left a staples crying!!! All because their worker is rude. Do I feel a little dramatic for crying, yes but I really couldnāt help it. Thereās not only a way to talk to customers, but people. He spoke to me like I was neither.
Itās not about him not being able to help me. Itās the way he...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am quite disappointed with this location. The level of incompetence and unprofessionalism is unprecedented, especially for a Staples location. After ordering a banner 24x72ā for same-day printing from this location, something Iāve done numerous times before, I get a call the next morning that the size chosen was too large for them to print and that they would have to forward the order to a location in New York City and I would have to wait 5-7 business days.
Iām not an unreasonable person, but I expect a little professionalism, competence, and enough training to be able to handle a small project like this and to be able to find a practical solution to an issue that seems quite simple to solve. Sending this order to a location in NYC for a week instead of a local store is unreasonable and incompetent to say the least.
The icing on the cake was asking for a store manager whom I expected to be more knowledgeable and hopefully offer a more common sense solution and having to speak with the untrained employee again about how the store manager told him to tell me about an issue they have with printing white borders on the banner. All new issues, mind you, since Iāve never had this problem occur with the same product ordered previously.
I know itās difficult to find employees these days, or at least ones who can function better than a 15 year old, but it still doesnāt explain the unprofessionalism by the store manager himself.
Youāre much better off going to the Staples...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe had received a batch of recipe cards for my Bridal Shower through another company and realized the day we were stuffing envelopes for invitations that the recipe cards were semi-gloss! (For those that have not attended a shower, it is common that the bride requests the women to hand write a recipe on a recipe card that is provided with the shower invitation. If you have ever tried to write on semi-gloss paper, it becomes impossible to write with a pen without going over your writing multiple times almost putting a hole through the paper! It also tends to smudge) We knew we needed a FAST solution so we drove over to our local Staples where Noelle and Sam in the Print and Marketing Supplies department went above and beyond to help us. Upon arriving Sam sensed our urgency and when asking when we needed the recipe cards by, and receiving my response of "NOW!" he smiled and said "just give us a minute and we will figure it out". He and Noelle promptly reviewed the project and had it completed for us within 15 minutes. They not only were able to duplicate the exact design by scanning into their printer/copier but were able to print the recipe cards on double-sided card stock and cut them to the perfect dimensions for us. We were blown away by their willingness to help, problem solving and amazing customer service. Thank you both and to the Staples team...
