One of the worst experiences of all time!
I go and order a key for a car. I set a date to have it programmed. That date comes and things have come up so I called to see if I can come early, they said yes and come talk to Matt.
This is the closest Ace to us, and it’s about an hour away. My wife packs up the kids and heads to Ace. She gets there and no one knows what’s going on. Everyone is incredibly rude to her, when Matt finally takes on the project. After 2 tries, the “first method” doesn’t work, but he has to go home so he tells us to try again tomorrow or wait for our original time which was almost 2 hours away still.
We can’t wait until our original appointment, that’s why we came early, See no other option we got our money back.
I then called the manager on duty from home to see what just happened. The manager said the Matt needed to go home and a Terry could take over to finish the job but my wife said no and wanted our money back. At this point now people are starting to tell stories to cover their own butt. I explained to the manager that a Terry being involved couldn’t be further from the truth. She put me on hold for a few minutes to get the story straight. After she comes back she confirmed that Terry never helped and went on to say that none of this would have happened had I kept my original appointment. What kind of condescending comment is that?
I reexplained to her that I called ahead and they said it was ok. If it was not ok, they should not have offered an early time.
Aside from the building looking cool, there is No accountability, lots confusion, rude staff, and story tellers! Never...
Read moreMy May 25, 2024 visit to The Big Tool Box (Parker) reminded me that I am a person of color shopping in Parker/Douglas County.
I have been a fan of The Big Tool Box since I discovered the original location (Centennial) may years ago and was super excited when the Parker location opened a few years ago. (I have told numerous people about The Big Tool Box). The Parker location is much closer for me. After my experience on May 25th, I will now have to start driving to the Centennial location again. During my last visit to the Parker location, I walked past no fewer than 8 associates (in both the Garden Center and inside the store) who didn't bother to acknowledge my presence or even welcome me. I even watched as white person after white person were acknowledged and asked if they needed assistance. This was so shocking because I have had nothing but wonderful experiences at the Parker location during my many previous visits (especially from an older lady from Texas who worked the outside registers). The sad part is that I called to speak to the store manager (around Noon on Saturday) and he was too busy to even bother with me. As of this review, he has still not reached out to me. Sad.
If you're a person of color, you may want to take your business elsewhere. If you're white...you'll be fine. Back to...

I should add that, since I wrote this positive review, I was a little turned off by a subsequent experience I had with The Big Tool Box. A Toro snowblower I purchased there less than two years ago was not working properly. I called and had the snowblower picked up from my home so it could be repaired. Because it was still under warranty, I assumed that the pickup, repair, and delivery would be covered. Much to my surprise, I received a call from the store telling me that the repair, which involved simply replacing some bolts that supposedly had been sheared off by a rock that was picked up by the snowblower, was not covered under the warranty. To add insult to injury, I now had to pay $100.00 for the pickup and delivery, even though I live less than five miles from the store. I was extremely disappointed by all of this, especially in light of the fact that Toro touts that it doesn't use shear pins in its snowblower because of the hardened casing it utilizes that is supposed to prevent damage such as the type my snowblower experienced. Needless to say, this has left a bad taste in my mouth, both from Toro and from The...
