A coworker suggested Takoda to me because I was entertaining family from Illinois & I wanted something in town, casual, with good food, good atmosphere, and a good view of the mountains. I got all I wanted and more. SUPERIOR service. I mean, our server was on point & I'm pretty sure it was the owner who stopped by to check on us & held the door for us on the way out. Seriously, the food was good, exactly what you expect for a good price, but the service was OUTSTANDING (servers who weren't even assigned to our area were friendly to us) and the view, they picked a badass location for an AHHHMAZING view.....exactly what you want when you want to entertain friends and family from out of town casually and affordably. (I say entertain because live music was just starting as we were headed out & I say affordable because we left with a ticket on 5 adults with entrees & drinks for $120 those drinks included several beers) I need to thank my coworker for suggesting Takoda. I haven't been this pleased with a resturant in years. YEARS, I say.
EDIT: Dropping this from a 5 to a 3 star overall. Not taking away that the first experience was 5 star, but the next two were 1 star, so threw lowest out and averaged, because I did go back, hubbs and I, twice. There won't be a 4th visit. Once, we walked in, stood there waiting for way too long before a random server, scrubbing a table yelled, "we'll be there in a minute, There's gonna be a wait!" (If you're SO short-staffed that you don't have a greeter, when you're clearly set up for a greet and seat type place, close down areas and make your seating amount relative to the staff you DO have, don't run your servers so thin tha they can't take time to be the greeter as well.) So we left. Tried again a few weeks later. We should have left, but we didn't. Stayed and was totally disappointed. Food was ok. Staff was short handed again. Service was sub par because of it. Server was still friendly, but you could see, clearly overworked. I guess their day staff and night staff availability are like...
Read moreVERY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Beautiful night and perfect to relax on a patio for a quick dinner... but we chose the wrong place! We sat down on the patio (seat yourself) and eventually we were asked for drinks and got some menus. Ordered a couple of apps and some tea and a beer. Ordered meals before apps arrived - 4 easy burgers. One would think. Apps came out and ordered another beer. After 10 minutes went inside and asked again for the Beer - "oh you want another one" answer - "yes that's why I asked you for it 10 minutes ago!" Manager brought out the beer and then refills for the tea, etc... and the extra napkins we also requested. Our meals EVENTUALLY came out --- well almost all of our meals... waitress said one needs about 1 more minute and left. Never saw her again!! My wife shared my burger and part of our son's and we then had to ASK for the manager (who already knew we have been having issues). He came out with a "this isn't good that you are calling for me" line. We explained how we NEVER received her burger and the waitress NEVER came out to explain why, apologize --- NOTHING! We explained how we have been here before and surprised at the service and asked for check. He said he would "take care of it" and be right back. He brings the check back and removed the Burger we never received and the drinks... THAT'S IT!!! No remorse and apparently no desire to keep customers or build referrals. This place used to be a good and fairly quick meal but ever since the move to the new location - the service, food and attitude has gone down hill. We will no longer be dining here or recommending it to ANYONE!! Stay away and enjoy your meal, don't spend it waiting and hoping you actually receive it! AVOID...
Read moreMy husband and I have frequented this establishment three times total. 2 out of those 3 times, we have received down right godawful customer service, etiquette, and poor restaurant services in general. We sat at the bar the very first instance and we had been sitting visibly in the middle of the bar for 20 minutes. Their lead bartender never acknowledged us, never offered us even water, although another couple had been serviced who arrived after we had already been waiting for 20 minutes to be acknowledged.
The second time we were at this establishment, their server was pretty cool and very friendly. We had come in to watch the Cowboys play.
The third and very last time we frequented this bar, not only did TWO of their servers physically and clumsily bump into us, they ALSO FAILED to get our orders correct, although we simply ordered 1) Budweiser and 1) glass of water. When I asked for my glass of water, I was inappropriately asked for my ID. I wasn’t aware one needed to be ID’d in order to receive water. My point is, my husband and I are extremely dissatisfied with their horrible customer service and equally horrible attitudes, but this bar is ALSO EXTREMELY biased against patrons with tattoos, piercings, and apparently, any patrons who are not visibly Denver Broncos fans, as we had come in wearing our favorite Cowboys jerseys. Not every single customer is a Denver Broncos fan and us PAYING CUSTOMERS should never be made out to feel any measures of exclusion and/or disrespect.
Please train your staff to treat your paying customers better. Thank you, Concerned...
