I was on my way home to San Andreas from Santa Barbara. I had 6 hours left to drive when my engine light came on. Scared and desperate, with my son in the car with me, and my husband absent at home, I took my car to an O'Reillys shop and tested it. It was my "less than a year old" WALMART car battery and it was failing quickly. Paso Robles was the closest Walmart with an Auto shop. I was advised to take my car to any Walmart and replace the faulty battery with a new one under warranty. When I finally arrived at Paso Robles, I was carefully driving over the speed bumps to go around to the auto center. Unfortunately, the speed bump ripped my skid plate almost completely off the car. (See photo attachment). I parked my car in line at the auto center and asked an older gentleman mechanic what I needed to do. He said to go into the shop and see if they had a battery available. He said the clerk would help me. I went into the auto shop door and met "Cheryl". Cheryl was authoritarian and difficult from the get go. She was completely uncaring and annoyed to want to help me. She immediately stated they didn't have a battery for my car because she sold the last one that morning (I saw one left available online) and that the shop refuses to put in batteries on cars like mine, a 2015 Ford Escape...unlike the Walmart in Jackson, Ca where I live that graciously put the faulty battery in. Cheryl was rude and honestly, at a time where a customer needs a little more understanding and grace. When a customer needs help and in a desperate situation to get said help, being treated poorly and/or rudely by a customer service employee, that employee needs to be in a different position. Not in customer service. The only saving grace was Jerry the assistant manager who tried his best to help me and point me in the right direction and Frankie the kind mechanic. Frankie was so kind, helpful and considerate from the beginning. He went over and above to make sure the skid plate was removed so I could drive home, and charged my battery enough to start my car and get me back on the road home. He even went so far as to offer to come to the gas station, with his manager's approval, if need be, to restart my car by recharging my battery if it failed while I refueled my vehicle. Thankfully, I was able to get home and will take my battery back to Jackson. I wish I could give two separate reviews with one star for Cheryl and 5 stars for Frankie. In my opinion, Cheryl is a HORRIBLE representation of your Auto Shop and needs to be in a position with little to no customer interaction. She's a miserable person with an authoritarian nature bent on making people as miserable as she is. And coincidentally, I'm not the only person who feels this way. The whole auto center staff agreed with me and said that she has had very similar feedback from various customers she has treated unfairly. Management needs to take their customer opinions and reviews to heart and take necessary action to make customer service great again. ~Marinda Fisher

Paso Robles Walmart has a sign posted outside- "All Associates are required to wear a face covering or mask while working". Happy to see this sign as I am at higher risk due to age and medical issues. I walked into the store Aug 8, 2020 at 7:30 AM. An employee was talking to another employee and had his mask completely below his chin. Without speaking, I simply indicated that he should pull up his mask. The employee refused to pull up his mask. He was rude and insulted me. I was shocked and embarrassed! I ask his name and he replied his name was on the receipt. I had no idea he was the store manager, DANIEL MARTINEZ, until he said this to me. He would not put his mask on. As I walked away I looked around and all the other employees were wearing their masks, including the Assistant Manager ART who had been talking with Daniel Martinez. As I continued shopping I again saw Daniel Martinez in another area of the store. His mask was below his nose only covering his mouth. When I got home I called Walmart Corporate Office and filed a complaint. A few hours later I received a call from the Assistant Marketing Manager for our Walmart. He said he had talked to Daniel and wanted to hear my side. He did apologize for Daniel. But then he started making excuses for Daniel -that doesn't sound like the Daniel I know, he must have been having a bad day, sometimes our employees work 10-12 hours and its hard to wear a mask all day. A lot of excuses. I said I can sympathize but he could step outside, step into the bathroom or back room and take his mask off for a break. Daniel Martinez is the store manager and he was breaking the rules in front of other employees and customers. What type of example is that for his employees? Does he have a separate set of rules because his name is on my receipt? Does he get to talk rudely to a senior citizen that just wants him to wear a mask? When I nicely indicated that he should pull up his mask, all he had to do was pull it up and I would have happily continued shopping. PLEASE NOTE- I have shopped at this Walmart since they opened. Even after Target opened I would almost always shop at Walmart. Until I met Daniel Martinez, the Walmart employees have always been kind, respectful and helpful. When masks became a requirement, the employees stepped up and wore their masks. Seems like the store manager could learn from his employees.

I had an exceptional shopping experience at Walmart, thanks to Laura’s outstanding service. She was incredibly helpful, genuinely cared about my day, and made me feel valued as a customer. When I needed sheet protectors, her colleague knew exactly where to guide me and took the time to show me the various size options available. Her knowledge and attentiveness stood out, as it’s rare to encounter such personalized care in a large store like Walmart. Despite the dominance of corporate retail, employees like Laura make Walmart feel like a warm, small business. I’m truly grateful for her efforts!

If you want to be unfairly accused and booted out of Walmart just for being young, this is the place for you!

My friends and I were just minding our own business, innocently browsing the toy aisle, when chaos erupted. Out of nowhere, a 30-year-old man zoomed past us on a Minecraft bike, looking like he'd escaped from a blocky video game into real life. Kudos to him for living his best life, but we somehow got blamed for his antics!

Next thing we know, we're being escorted out by security, accused of 'disruptive behavior' and 'property damage.' Us! Not the Minecraft marauder who was joyriding through the store like he was on a quest for diamonds. We tried to explain that we were mere spectators in this real-life episode of 'Walmart Wackiness,' but they weren't having it.

To make matters worse, the manager seemed to be under the influence of something. His glazed eyes and slurred speech didn’t inspire much confidence in his decision-making abilities. And then there was the middle-aged Mexican lady who randomly accused us of causing the commotion. She didn't witness anything but felt the need to point fingers anyway. Talk about adding insult to injury!

So, if you're young and want to be held accountable for the random shenanigans of a grown man on a pixelated bike, go ahead and shop here. Just be prepared to be labeled as troublemakers and shown the door faster than you can say 'Creeper attack!'

From now on, we'll stick to shopping where our innocence is presumed until proven otherwise. As for the Minecraft man, I hope he found his enchanted sword or whatever he was after. #YouthNotTrouble #WalmartFails NEEDLESS TO SAY YOU WILL BE HEARING FROM MY...
