Members should call LA Fitness corp. It's not personal. It's business standards. Update: 12/07/24 a simple fresh paint job and changing the all of lights would help. The mens sauna has been out for weeks. Another excuse. Always excuses. Smh. Nothing changes if nothing changes. The members are not the issue! It's the way the club is run and operated. La Fitness should do a secret shopper program and rate each club. Update: 10/02/24 I can't list the many things. Nothing new. Review still stands. Updated: 5)12/23 Another member dealing with their locker broken into. The whole locker door was split due to a faulty hinge. Pic posted. I actually witnessed the issue being logged this time and the police were called. Updated: 4/12/23- They have an issue with controlling the environment. Night time is awful as the basketball court attracts a lot of problems directly related to non-members and guest pass abuse. I believe this is strongly related to the thievery that has been experienced. Recently, I forgot my toiletry bag and it was stolen. It had a bracelet gifted to me from my mother. What kills me is the lack of awareness and ownership to keep an orderly and safe business establishment. Staff members can literally see personal belongings of value and not think "hmm I should grab that and bring it to lost and found" it's a known thing if you have the misfortune of forgetting something it's stolen. I don't want to be in an environment I pay for and have to feel that way. This truly makes me want to change gyms. They have thieves in their house!!! I have other things to critique but it's not worth any more of my time. Previous review. ---A lot of equipment has been broken for over a year! Weights are frequently scattered. Historically, pool maintenance has been unsatisfactory. It seems to close early or delay opening more often than other gyms. The...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was originally happy when I joined LA about a year ago because I was use to a gym about 1/3 the size which often filled up very quickly; however, after spending more time here, I'm really hoping Providence gets some better options. I want to preface my following points by saying that there are some weeks that are much more satisfactory than others, but things have been consistently bad, which is what motivated this review. First, the gym itself is not well taken care of/cleaned. It smells, the carpet is filthy, and the equipment isn't clean/taken care of. Second, machines (as evidenced in the photos) are constantly broken and waiting to be serviced, some for MONTHS. Third, the patrons are generally rude and obnoxious...weights/equipment are left scattered everywhere (and not picked up by staff), some of the douchey "men" take up multiple sets of weights and multiple machines at the same time, and unhinged grunting and weight slamming (love that your pushing yourself but you can do so while being respectful of others...oh, and maybe work on those toothpick legs of yours once in a while too). Fourth, staff could be more welcoming and more team oriented. I'm sure tasks are delegated to people in certain positions, but when your workplace is a disaster, maybe an all-hands-on-deck situation is appropriate. I also find it kind of wild that there could be 2-6 people sitting at desks not doing anything while you have handicapped staff doing all the cleaning and picking up. Lastly, to the patrons who feel the need to park in handicap spots (with no disability placard) because you don't want to walk the extra 50 feet to the GYM doors, you're...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAlthough most of the equipment works in this facility there are many issues cleanliness being one of them the gym is poorly maintained by staff .
Thereās a lot of visible rust on most of the machines and you can see were peopleās sweat have drip down on treadmill and most of the machines inside the gym which shows that they donāt really clean the gym as a facility like most LA fitness is and planet fitness is do I donāt see staff walking through wiping down machines every few hours especially during a pandemic.
I constantly walk in there and see peoples face masks left behind when they open the next day they are still there from the previous day. Some of the equipment is in poor condition and old and outdated or not maintain some of the braking equipment for some of the ellipticals I am poor condition you can tell when youāre on the machine.
the staff are extremely professional and friendly in my personal opinion I believe this is a result of owner negligence and not re-investing in his or her gym most of the LA Fitness as Iāve ever gone to including the one in Warwick or in pristine condition flawless. You can tell that a lot of the equipment is not maintained frequently.
Most gyms have staff that walk around every several hours and wipe down equipment at least once per shift Iāve never seen this at the facility and you could tell because most of the people who go there have to wipe down equipment before and after and you can also see all the sweat stains on the machines faces and buildup of dust and rust on most of the machines...
