Both my children took the project based class for 7-10 year olds. They made a carousel out of wood and clay. What I really liked about the class was how structured it was and how much they learned about different art techniques. The children also learned about the history of the carousel. The class itself was structured, there were clear expectations and the teacher gave each child individual attention throughout. I have attended Dons introductory art class 1 and 2 which formed the basis of all my art work later on. I was with Sally Caswell for 3 years doing portraiture. Sally is one of the best asset teachers that I've encountered which comes from her own experience teaching at RISD and community colleges and from the fact that she's a very good artist. Our class had a mix of skill levels, mediums, and subjects so the format was largely working through various tasks and projects while Sally circled around offering advice and critique. She's a great teacher and a skilled artist, and I looked forward to class every week. I'm looking forward to taking more classes in the future here!
