Edited for more info: Found the billing agency, Emergency Physicians Integrated Care on Google and my goodness the 100% 1 star reviews say it ALL. Countless reviews stating that they send straight to collections without prior notification to the patient, that they are near impossible to get in contact with or to get any action from, that they constantly engage in shady practices, and MUCH more.
Stay FAR, FAR away from any hospital associated with this billing agency. Leave reviews if you’ve worked with them, PLEASE don’t let people fall for their scams
Another edit: Forgot to add that the hospital itself is very complicit in the fraud. When you call the billing department with the hospital, they’ll tell you the bill has nothing to do with them, they have no idea who the billing agency is, how to get in contact with them, literally anything. Utterly unhelpful and very suspicious how disconnected they are from the billing agency. I repeat, do NOT go to this hospital
Either incompetent or completing fraud. We had a medical injury auto claim that our insurance paid to the hospital and we were informed of this multiple times. Still, we’re getting notifications that the bill hasn’t been paid, the insurance needs more information ect. The insurance has not contacted us for further information and every time we have contacted the insurance, they reassure us that it’s all been paid and completely taken care of.
Fast forward months later, we are still getting contacted by this hospital, when they should have been dealing directly with the insurance. Called them today and spoke to the billing supervisor(Letia? Letitia? Something) Same thing, “oh they haven’t paid it, oh they need more info from you, ect ect) Again. Our insurance has informed us numerous times that the bill is paid, it’s all taken care of, and if the hospital has any issues they would be contacting the insurance directly. But of course they haven’t been dealing with the insurance(the only thing the insurance is hearing about it is directly from us, even tho the emails the hospital’s billing agency is sending us are claiming that they’re filling claims to the insurance and trying to get more info from them)
While dealing with the billing supervisor, I was trying to get the point across that to our knowledge this has been completely paid for and taken care of, and if the hospital has any issues they need to contact the insurance directly and stop contacting us. She then said they would reach out to see if the bill was paid….great thanks….thats what you should have done months ago.
Immediately after this phone call, we called our insurance again, and within two minutes they confirmed that they paid the billing agency, immediately had the date they paid it and that it was marked as paid by the billing agency months ago! But not surprisingly, it has not been cashed by the agency…….makes sense. The insurance also informed us that if the billing agency of Mountain View hospital continues to contact us regarding this, to not engage and direct them to our insurance(which again, is what the agency should be doing this entire time)
Frankly, my guess is that the agency hopes/knows that a lot of people are uniformed and will just pay it themselves in an effort to get it taken care/stop harassing them, so that they can get double payment. Also interestingly, we have family members who have had an almost identical situation, where the insurance paid and maintained that they had paid, and the billing agency continued to harass them until some very strongly worded phone calls and they finally admitted they had been paid. So, this is a very common occurrence and people really need to be aware so they don’t fall for this trap.
The doctors are great I’m sure and they have no control over what the billing agencies of the clinics they work at do. But unfortunately, I can’t in good faith recommend or stay quiet on the suspicious activity that many people have...
Read moreI was so impressed by the level of thoughtfulness the entire labor and delivery staff had. They really went above and beyond to consider every detail. Most hospitals will focus on getting their patients healthy and stop there. At Mountain View I could tell we were more than just patients to them. We weren’t just another number or checkbox, we were people. Their people-centered approach to healthcare turned what can be one of the most vulnerable and painful experiences in a woman’s life into a delight.
Our anesthesiologist Dr. Riding arrived very quickly. He was very kind and patient as he administered a complicated epidural at the same time my wife was going through her worst contractions. Moments later she was feeling comfortable again and was able to focus her energy on pushing.
Our labor nurse Stephanie was very compassionate and forthcoming with useful information to help my wife get through labor and pushing. She was there by our side every step of the way. She empathetically listened to my wife’s pain and expertly gave her both emotional and physical support.
Our OB/GYN, Dr. Morris, was also very prompt to come assist us. He helped us through a very complex decision of whether or not to try a VBAC delivery or do another c-section. He did a great job telling us the trade offs of both options in terms that would make sense to us. We decided to try the VBAC and with his expert help it was successful. On top of just keeping my wife and baby healthy throughout the delivery he was also instrumental in calming our nerves. During one of the most stressful experiences a person can have we were smiling and laughing thanks to Dr. Morris’s fun, friendly, and calming demeanor.
We had 2 nurses (Tani and Ali) and a respiratory therapist (Mark) cheering us on through pushing. They quickly and carefully took care of our newborn during his first moments of life. They prioritized letting my wife hold her new baby for some precious moments before doing anything else.
After baby was cleaned and the dust had settled the staff continued to be just as attentive to our needs. The nurses (Tani, Ali, Anna, Courtney, Joell) were very good about helping my wife and baby navigate breastfeeding. They did this in a patient and understanding way. This did a lot to ease much of the unspoken frustrations and difficulties around breastfeeding.
I was also impressed by the way the staff balanced doing necessary assessments and protecting mommy-baby bonding time. Whenever possible they always prioritized our rest and bonding time over “getting their job done”. I could tell that to them “their job” wasn’t just about charts and forms; it was about our happiness.
This was apparent not only from the way we were treated by staff members but also the facility itself. We were given a room that felt more like a fancy hotel than a hospital. There was a reclining queen size bed that allowed my wife and I to lay next to each other vs the typical single hospital bed. We also had a small dining table complete with a table cloth, fancy napkins, candles, champagne glasses, and a celebratory sparkling cider. All the decorations were homey and cozy which helped us settle right in.
I wish I could write down all the people and all the small and simple acts of kindness we experienced at Mountain View. It was truly an exceptional experience. If you’re having a baby and want to be treated like a human and not just a patient, Mountain View Labor & Delivery is...
Read moreI don't recommend the ER. Two years ago I brought my daughter in for abdominal pain. Because of location I was concerned it might be her appendix. By the time we were settled into a room, the pain had shifted, so it clearly wasn't an appendix issue. The doc came in and checked her and agreed the likelihood of it being an appendix problem was low, BUT he then went on to suggest that we put in an IV, do a blood test and possibly get an MRI (just in case) -- for stomach pain! If I hadn't worked in an ER before, I might have taken him seriously and done all of these things. It seemed he was more concerned about being able to get as much $$$ out of the situation as possible, rather than actually taking care of the patient.
But it didn't end there. They must have lost the contact info I provided when we first arrived, because I never received a bill. I assumed the $90 copay we paid up front, must have covered the visit. A year later, I get a collections notice. They had sent the bill to my address of a DECADE ago, that I only recognized when the collections people told me where it had gone. What? Where did they even get that info? And the bill was for 500+ dollars! For sitting in a room for 10 minutes, declining the doc's offer to do every kind of testing imaginable and then leaving? And best of all, that was just the bill from the hospital. I got another collections bill last week from the ER doctor himself. Very nice. I guess they sent that one to the wrong address, too. Anyhow, I can't speak to their other departments, but if you want an ER doctor who cares about you more than just racking up tests to make more money, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. I won't be visiting...
