Fraud under the name of charity. Get your act together GATEWAY TO HELL. You could get a SCALE or two in that bargain center and start WEIGHING and selling things by the pound 1.99, like the goodwill bins on Center street in Ridgeland, and make it fair to all that shop here instead of a few select CHOSEN regular people that constantly get deals, you can see them slow walking to the counter after everyone is gone⦠or waiting on the side to get a deal, people arenāt stupid, this is basic math, you canāt shop here everyday if you are not getting deep deals on items. MAKE IT FAIR FOR EVERYONE. Without Quincy, Steve, Tasha and the nice lady that answers the phone in the office you wouldnāt have a business because the cashiers would kill off your business in less than 30 days. The Lord has blesses you with free stuff to help the people and BE A BLESSING TO THE COMMUNITY. You are not a retail store, you are a bargain store⦠but your junk is HIGHER THAN RETAIL. Most charity thrift shops are 501C tax exempt taking in free donations. If ROSS, WALMART & DOLLAR TREE sell vases from 1.25 and up, why would you sell vases used, out of the trash boxes in the back at $5 and up? Nobody shops here for retail prices. You would make more money consistently by doing buggy or bundle sales, offering 20 items for $30, 30 items for $40 you would move the stuff out of your junk store faster that way then trying to rob the people at the register with high prices. There are many resellers in this state that shop stores like this to get cheap merchandise to supplement their income, or local artist like myself looking for things to redo or recycle⦠Iām not looking for expensive TRASH to make art with. The thrift store a half a mile away have prices posted and sell all clothing items under $5, lamps under $6 shoes $4, books .50, while you gouge. A few of the ladies that work the register are rude and they get pleasure out of quoting ridiculous prices for junk. But they are stabbing your business to itās death. A woman tried to charge me $10 for a sweater and $7 for some cup saucers, I told her to keep the stuff. What she was trying to charge me for a few things others get for a whole cart. BUT WHEN I CHECKED THE BILL ON THE ITEMS THAT I DID GET - SHE HAD OVERCHARGED ME $5 - what she stole from me she actually stole from the LORD who gave it to me, the LORD rebuke her. Another time I was there I had 3 thin paperback children's books and I was charged $1 a book, it should have been 3 for $1. THIS IS SHAMEFUL. May the Lord turn the tables over on this place. I pray that you will stop price gouging and ripping people off in the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI loved shopping there but here lately the guy we have to track down for pricing, sets prices too high. He is the reason your store is still full of furniture. He quoted me $60 for a three drawer dresser that was small and needed a lot of repairs. Facebook marketplace had better furniture at cheaper prices. This is a thrift store, not Miskellys. People who canāt afford high dollar furniture shop thrift, and thanks to the guy who works for you, those people canāt even afford thrift. He could also use a class in manners. Nothing is priced in the entire store so if you are budget shopping, then good luck. You have to go all the way to the front and ask for a price. And heaven forbid you ask a worker on the floor a price because the cashier is gonna give you a totally different price. Iām not sure who owns or manages this store but it needs more than a face lift. It needs a whole new staff. Iām sure you will read my review and do nothing but I wonāt be returning or sending people your way...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe store is totally disorganized. Very few items are priced and the ones that are are overpriced. Everything was dirty- the store and the merchandise, which is odd since there were plenty of employees. They were standing around the register having LOUD conversation and when asked for help acted as though we'd asked them to sacrifice their firstborn. They were VERY rude to my aunt when she asked for a price- of course she didn't know and made no effort to find out. It seems like they made up the prices at the register as they go. Since Gateway is a Christian mission and they support a lot of outreach programs, I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt and assuming that maybe the employees are part of one of their programs to help people who have no social skills, no work ethic, and a lack of basic life skills like cleanliness and courtesy. I hope they get...
