We hired Rumford Stone for our project last fall and had our soapstone countertops installed in November. They made the entire process as easy as possible with their knowledgeable and incredibly patient staff. My vision changed several times throughout our experience with them and they were there to provide us with guidance every step of the way. We first worked with Eden in the showroom. Providing us with both her creativity and expertise, Eden was an integral piece of bringing my ideas to life. In addition to this, her response time to emails in unmatched. She was absolutely amazing. After we decided on our counters, we worked with our project manager, Terri. Terri was very informative and helped to guide us through the installation portion of our project. She was organized and worked very hard to keep everything as close to on-schedule as she possibly could, even with changing dates on our part. At the time of install, the men who came out were so kind and were even quiet enough to work through nap time which was such a blessing. After they installed the new countertops, they taught us how to properly care for them and were able to answer any questions we had. I could not recommend a company more for your...
Read moreWhile it was overall great and efficient to work with Rumford Stone, I want to share a warning to be very careful if you aren't going to see slabs in-person. They sent 2 photos for approval of the granite slab we were interested in, but the stone was dark and wet and I couldn’t see the huge natural variations. The variations weren't captured in the close-up photo shared with me of the grain and veins. I was expecting lines and swirls based on the close-up photo, so I was shocked upon delivery to see a big noticeable blotch in the most visible area of the stone. It looks dirty and it is not. Rumford Stone did not offer any discount despite my disappointment. If you want to make sure you don't have any surprises, go see what you want in-person or be sure to ask for photos to be taken while the slabs are clean and dry. They are high-quality and competitively priced. I was told they are going to build a greenhouse to project the...
Read moreIn a nutshell, frustrating. The countertop looks okay, however the customer service was not great. I had ordered and paid for a kitchen faucet from them that never showed up. When I scheduled the template measurement they told me I had to have the faucet on site or they couldn't do the measurement. I explained that I had purchased the faucet from THEM and how could I have the faucet onsite when they had it. After checking the order they apologized and said I was correct. Then on the day that my counter top and sink was installed there was NO FAUCET. After waiting a while to hear back from customer service they informed me that they no longer install faucets. Well, that would have been helpful information to know weeks before the delivery so that I could have planned accordingly. Also, I found an area of hardened sealant/glue on the surface of the counter top after it was installed. I'm not sure how Im going to get...
