Will keep it on the positive, but I noticed, watch, they give certain boxes that have the good produce, and "dry items" to those who they prefer and give those they seem to not like the boxes that are full of blemished produce, and no or very little "dry items". They know what boxes are the bad ones or not much, should they not want to give much.
Additionally, I find it to be lazy that they make everyone sit and drive along the shoulder which is extremely unsafe, because they dont want to have someone direct traffic in the large parking lot that they have. I call this lazy. All it does is cause a tremendous amount of stress to those there for food.
The attitude of those running the giveaway is less than stellar. They seem to not care about the people that are getting the food, but are occasionally intrigued by someone who they then give a ton of food.
They seem to employ favoritism and give accordingly. I think that since Philabundance and others are donating to them for free, they should not make personal perceptions on those.
To me, its very judgmental, and lazy overall. The bottom line, is that this non-profit, is non-profit, yes, but it can pay those who are there giving away food and the managers whatever they decide. I think the ones that need to be thanked is probably Philabundance or more directly those giving the money in the first place.
It might be better to just give the needy the money directly and avoid all the middle man stuff, because the middle man makes money too and gets all the credit. In the end, its the initial giver thats the subsidizer.
I think MAS could do better with the attitude to the customer, and how they arrange pickup. This applies to...

Read moreKind gesture for the community, but be nicer to those who are picking food up. Especially those doing it the first time. We don't know the "rules". We are struggling as is. There were some smiling faces, but others were judgemental with rude comments. Made me feel ashamed to be there, and yelled at me like a child. I've never done this before, so I was completely embarrassed being treated like that. If you are volunteering, please be nicer to...
