Orient Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Pennsville Township

Usually I don’t do reviews but this place sucks. Me and my family were eating at this restaurant and the whole time we were eating, we were being scolded by the workers and the manager and they were constantly watching our every move which was quite annoying. Our waitress was nice to us at first but as we were about to leave.. we offered a tip to the waitress and he said “the tip wasn’t good enough” and he said “we’re in the US and the tip is 15%” but he still decided to collect the tip anyway after complaining about it. We go to the parking lot and the same old Chinese man from the restaurant comes out from the back and starts to yell and complain saying “don’t bother coming back unless you’re getting take out”. We asked for the managers and no one knew who was in charge and they basically told us to be more understanding of our ungrateful rude server. Telling us that he doesn’t make a lot of income and he’s poor but that had absolutely nothing to do with how he acted towards us. I will not be going here ever again and if you’re reading this...take it from me, bad customer service and it’s not the best Chinese food either. You’re better at...

We have almost always had really good meals there. A few times it's been off...like a little over salty...or a bit overcooked....but I have never experienced the terrible food that some reviewers seem to have. We did notice the egg rolls are now VERY thin and have hardly any cabbage filling in them. Not even worth eating....the filling is the best part! That is disappointing. We have been going there for the past 10 years or so. Haven't seen a huge difference in the quality of food since the change in owners. The Crab Rangoon are delicious! We still drive over 30 min to get there when we are in the mood for good Chinese food. We just took the kids and our grandbaby there for a fun night. Ordered 7 or 8 things off the menu and shared everything. We really enjoyed it. The service is usually pretty good. Food comes out quick and hot. Only complaint we have is they need to have some type of desserts available. Our favorite would be the little sugared...

This restaurant, the Orient, is not only the best Chinese restaurant in Salem County, NJ, but I have traveled the world and I would dare to say it is the best Chinese restaurant in the world. And I have been to Chinatowns in Philadelphia and Los Angeles and been in every restaurant and really, the Orient is the best food for the prices. We always get what we want, cooked the way we want it, with a beautiful presentation and very attentive service. Also, they do take out food too. They are in an out of the way location but it is worth the drive to come here. If you want Peking Duck, you must order 1-2 days ahead of time. Just give them a call. I really love...
