Peoria Bazaar — Local services in Peoria

I’ve been a regular customer at this Indian grocery store for over a year, but recent experiences have made me reconsider. On multiple occasions, the counter staff have been disrespectful, making unsolicited comments about my age and appearance when I asked for a student discount. Despite showing my ID, they insisted I didn’t “look like a student,” which was not only unnecessary but also hurtful. The two girls at the counter are consistently unprofessional, and their comments have made me feel uncomfortable every time I visit.

Additionally, my recent interaction with the store was frustrating when I called to inquire about ground beef. After being put on hold for seven minutes without anyone attending, I drove 20 minutes only to find out the item was out of stock. This kind of negligence from the current management is disappointing, especially since the previous team was much better. While the store does offer Halal chicken, the service is so poor that I’m considering switching to Swagat Grocery, which offers better prices and a more respectful atmosphere. So this was my first time going to the store . I got to know about it though a friend and have been wanting to get some fresh meat from them . I have no words to describe how well they have organized the store. I called one day before and asked them to hold some fresh meat for me and they happily did . I got to meet Vijay who works there and he was an absolutely pleasure to talk to . They have halal meat options in the Peoria area where it is not always available to get but are a bit expensive. I'm from Detroit so the price to me seems a bit high which may not be justified compared to small town Peoria. They have different snacks options on weekends I think.
