This review is less about the Range and More the Coach...
The facility itself is pretty standard. Friendlier staff that are there without being right on top of you. I have been a member at C2 tactical and The Scottsdale Gun Club. The Peoria Shooters World location is my home range now and I'll tell you why... ED Stralko... ED is Shooters World's head trainer and the Reason that after being a member of the Scottsdale Gun Club and C2 Tactical...Shooters World peoria is my home range.
I have been a Martial artist half my life and an instructor since 2016 with 3 teaching certifications and 3 black belts to my name. I have been a pistol shooter since 2011 and was training for steel challenge before covid hit... before a few months ago I made it to the range twice a year when I used to go every week.
I work security now and want to train for armed postings within my company. But I work 2 jobs 6 days a week and Sunday is my only off day. So I went to Scottsdale Gun Club and C2. Even at $100 an hour! (😟...🤔) and offering to pay for 10 hour blocks in advance I was quickly brushed off by the instructors there and at Local Security Guard training facilities because all of them "didn't have time".... at $100 an hour paid 10 in advance... you don't have time?
I emailed Shooters World and.... I got a prompt email From... Yes... ED Stralko. After explaining my goal and the limitations ED was willing to work with me for roughly 40% less than what was being asked everywhere else I went and better still... he shuffled his schedule to meet me at the location closest to me Sundays.
Ed is knowledgeable and Friendly. He Does not have the Ego of many instructors that act like the favor is being done for you because they are letting you have the honor of paying them.
Trust me people...You want to be in a place with a coach that will help you climb the skill tree. If you want to be the Glock Meister with your new 43x for CCW Shooters and Ed will probably get you on your way at reasonable schedule for you without overcharging.
As of this writing I can actually shoot passing scores for the hardest Qualification I'm training for and could probably pass right now after 7 lessons but im going to keep with it until I'm nice and sharp and sure that when the buzzer beeps on the Qualification shooting line I can draw and do my thing knowing the shots well land where I want them.
So... if you have a goal... big or just trying to get a better job so you can quit your 2nd job (🤞)... Call or Email Shooters World ask for Ed Stralko. In 2 months he helped me go from landing off paper at 10 yards with 9mm... to today. At 10 yards shooting a glock 20 I just bought for the first time. Even in mag dumping I was putting Atomic 10mm hallow point in center mass.
I improve every lesson. If.... WHEN I pass my qualification it will be because ED and Shooters World gave me a place to train instead of...
Read moreThis review's regarding an older sales guy name Mark the supervisor when I checked in to sell a firearm a Sig P229R Enhance Elite 9mm in excellent condition. This guy Mark is probably the most pathetic ripoff with a personality of a wet mop. Anyway, I go in to Shooter's World Peoria 5/30/2017 and ask if I can get a quote on my firearm? He said I need to take a look at it, and I said yes you can. He then demanded that I brandish a photo ID? I then said why do you need to see an ID when you're just going to take a look at it and not selling it to you just yet?
All these years being around guns, buying and selling through Cabela's, Shooters World and Randall's I have never once have to brandish a photo ID just to look at a firearm only when buying.
He then got aggressive with me and tells me no ID, then I can't help you. So I was like what the hell.....He then tells me I can guarantee you right now we're only going to pay you 50% of what the retail cost of the firearms. He then pulled out his gun value book and then tells me he's only going to give me $350. What!!! So I said you're kidding right? he said no! So I ask to see the the gun value book and see exactly what he's looking at and the resale value is, and if remember he also said 50% of the retail price. He refused, he said you don't need to see it and puts away the book. I'm assuming the value of the weapon is at least between $5-600 or 50% of the retail price. I then said you know what I don't want to do business with you. I'm going to ask this other guy what he's going to give me for it? He then followed me as I was approaching the other person behind the counter and said he's not going to do business with you, I'm the supervisor in this place and he's not going to give you anything for it. I then left and told him he's a ripoff.
I then decided to go to Phoenix Shooters World and ask for a quote? The guy that helped me is also a Supervisor, he didn't even ask me for a photo ID and just looked at the firearm and then gave me a quick value of what he's going to give me. Put it this way, I got quoted close enough to what I expected for my firearm more than that ripoff Mark from Peoria...
Read moreI just wanted to start this review by saying, I have never taken the time to leave a bad review. I have been coming here for the past two years or so and have never had any complaints. But, this weekend I came on Saturday and was informed that there would be about a three hour wait, so I didn’t bother staying and just decided I would come back Sunday. Sunday, I was told there was about a one and half hour to two hour wait. I decided to wait... After about two hours I asked where I was on the list. I was told I was three people behind. Another hour goes by. So, I ask again.. only to be informed that I’m still three people behind. So, I asked the employee to speak with the manager and after speaking with the manager.. my lane had somehow magically opened! He told me that members have unlimited range time, so it’s hard for them to give estimates. I understand they are members and pay their fees, but when you have a never ending list of people waiting to shoot... you think that would still be monitored to an extent. Made me wonder what the heck these members were doing in there for 3 hours haha no one needs that much time to shoot and if they do, they should probably be paying for private classes. It gets better! I go to purchase 9mm ammo that normally runs around $10 for a box of 50. Shooter’s World is now charging $33 for a box of 50. Anyone who knows anything about cost of ammunition knows that’s a complete rip off and that they are up-charging due to supply and demand because of COVID. BUT WAIT THERE’S MORE... haha ear pro and eye pro.. which, is normally free to use, has to be purchased. Also, range time used to be like $10 for an hour and now they are charging $20 for an hour. This is a prime example of a business trying to reap the benefit of a pandemic and a business that does not actually care about its customers. I will never...
