I REALLY want this restaurant/venue space to survive. The concept is fabulous, and the owners are doing a great job promoting it on social with ever-changing events and chefs. It has great potential! Except for the volume level :-(. The minute I stepped into the space the noise and echoing of the 25/30 people already seated was horrendous. We couldn't hear the waitress, or each other. When the live music began, it was worse! My husband and I had to eat in compete silence because we simply couldn't hear each other without screaming. I noticed many of the other patrons doing the same. My ears actually rang for about 10 minutes after we left.
We need a place where I want to come for the food, and stay for the music. Add some warm vibes (candles, couches, chairs, faux fireplace......) and perhaps a different section farther away from the music where people can talk.
Sadly, we left hoping the spend the night at The Table and went to The Twelve Bar instead, where we could relax on the couches with a bottle of wine.
This review is truly meant to be constructive, because we NEED great places like this to thrive in Peoria. I believe The Table can get there. It has great service, beautiful aesthetics, and the rotating menu/events keep me wanting more.
But please consult with local acoustics company so the noise can be properly absorbed with the high ceilings and wood floors. It may only take a few modifications to make a huge difference. You've got what it takes to attract people! We are...
Read moreMy now wife and I chose The Table as our reception venue several months before our wedding. Owner, Karen Lewis, could not have been more helpful. She walked us through the entire venue, quoted us a very reasonable price (including tablecloths and two bartenders), gave us examples of what other people had done there for their events, and gave us an extremely short list of things we could not do.
Being a former Italian restaurant, it was wanting for nothing - plenty of tables and seating, a large back room with additional seating, a complete professional kitchen (though we catered in charcuterie and desserts from a local bakery - food photos included for set-up / location reference) and a very long bar space. It was perfect for our needs. The lights were also dimmable to create a more intimate, romantic vibe the night of the reception. We also had room for a large, Victorian sofa with a backdrop and props for silly photos.
I believe The Table seats about 115 - we invited about 100 people, and had about 90 show up, so it was perfect. Karen even allowed us extra days to move our stuff back out, since there was nothing scheduled the rest of the weekend (our reception was on a Friday night). I can't say enough about our whole experience from start to finish -...
Read moreThis past weekend we had the great pleasure of hosting my cousins Bridal Shower at THE TABLE. Thanks to THE TABLE and their wonderful staff the shower was nothing short of Amazing. From the moment we met Karen we knew we had to book this venue. This lady, was always pleasant, responsive and easy to work with. By the end of the event we had met Scott and we gained a new family member Danni the bartender - She too was great and accommodating and knowledgeable about what and how to do it all. This place is a true diamond in the rough. If you are looking for a great location with a clean slate this is your spot. We did the leg work and there is nothing like it. Thanks Karen, Scott and...
