I would like to preface that the servers were courteous and attentive. I have no issue with the customer service.
I went for lunch to this location around 12:30pm with my mother and my toddler. I have never been a big fan of Bob Evans after numerous sub par experiences at different locations.
The menu is almost entirely re-branded institutional-quality selections with some fresh-to-order fare. At the best of times, I would expect to at least have freshly made coffee and fresh although pre-made or pre-prepared food. I'm generally not a fan of that kind of restaurant and prefer to give my business to local restaurants.
My mom loves Bob Evans. Usually she has a good experience and is satisfied with the food. We came here because she likes the burgers, so she ordered a bacon cheeseburger. The burger patty she received was dry and overcooked. The bacon was almost completely dried out and close to burned. The bacon was probably leftover breakfast bacon that had been reheated or sat under a warmer for way too long. Her cup of coffee was warm but it was way too old.
My son and I had chicken tenders, fries, and coleslaw. I ordered a strawberry lemonade for my son and iced tea for myself. I would have liked some kind of cold coffee beverage. Even just a plain iced or cold brew would have been fine. I got my drink, but they brought my son a plain lemonade. Not a huge deal so I didn't ask for a replacement.
I didn't have very high expectations, but something was very wrong with the coleslaw. It was NOT fresh, tasted old, and something in the dressing was obnoxiously sweet, like someone had added sugar to mask the flavor. I usually really like regular creamy coleslaw.
The server replaced the coleslaw with broccoli salad. It too wasn't very fresh and the dressing was pretty sparse like I prefer but it also was too sweet. We just didn't bother with the second side.
The chicken tenders overcooked and dry. The fries were also dry.
Our total was about $30 after tipping.
It was really quite a waste of money and time and I'd have been able to get ths same items of overcooked, old food from a drive thru fast food joint for a lot cheaper.
Neither of us was very happy about it, but my mom, who really enjoys Bob Evans and goes regularly with her siblings, was pretty disappointed...
Read moreOverall normally a good place to eat. We don't do dinner or lunch here often but often have Sunday breakfast here. Prices are fair and service usually above par. Until 4/23/17, stopped in later than we normally do so it was busier. Didn't mind the wait. Were seated in the section of an older lady named Linda. Right from the start she seemed rather displeased with us. Was pleasant with the tables surrounding us, not sure if we had her before and maybe we slighted her or something. We usually tip well above the "15%" as we've always had good service here and since we visit frequently like to keep the servers happy with us just in case. There was a slight attitude with taking our order. They were of course busy so food was taking normal than longer so my wife flagged her down for an order of banana bread to which her reply was "fine" as she walked away. That came after our order and was dry and onset of stale. She forgot a part of my order which since she did not once come to check on us, i had to flag her down and ask for the remainder of it. "Ok", no "oops, sorry, let me get that right away" nothing. It did eventually too arrive. Last time we saw her was when she dropped the check off, i had to go to the counter myself and ask a friendly girl there for a go box. I'm not one to normally to write anything simply on one bad experience or issue. But since she was quite pleasant with her other tables i have to assume it was just us. I will go back, they have great breakfast and normally famous worthy banana bread, but I'll be sure to ask for...
Read moreCame here on Thanksgiving today of all days, last year, too. Itâs always nice because my mom and I have family, as well as my future hubby, but they live out of town, and my family doesnât gather until later December.
One thing youâll notice the minute you walk in is Miss Star, one of the most kind and considerate workers there and so respectful. I remember her from last year, she makes that much of an impact. Youâll hear her leadership directly in the tone of her voice as she is directing the lobby and making sure that everyone is taken care of with a smile on her face no matter the circumstance. When Star is on shift, there is no doubt who is captain of that front lobby. Unfortunately even though she is a leader she was stuck waiting for a discount from a manager when she should clearly be given the capability to do it herself! Give this woman a promotion! :) She is one of your BEST, most dedicated workers. Star leaves your customers with a smile and wanting to come back.
My man and I ordered breakfast and Thanksgiving dinner to split, my mom got Thanksgiving dinner. Absolutely DELICIOUS! Our server was so kind, I think his name was Gage but I could be wrong, he was shorter and had some cool tattoos!
The atmosphere was wonderful and calm, everyone on shift did a great job with the huge influx of carry out orders and dine in. Thank you so much to all the kind staff and workers in the back making it all happen, you make a difference today and everyday!
So blessed for folk like the staff at...
