Menards — Local services in Perkins Township

Tried to buy 2 sheets of drywall. My 7 year old son and I walked to the back of the store to buy the drywall. The guy said the inventory count was negative two. Then changed his story to it available and rang me up for 2 sheets. We drove around the building and found the location in the storage building was empty. We drove up to the guard shack and the attendant said it’s back there and that we must of missed it. We met a tow motor driver back there and he said sorry for the wild goose chase but they didn’t have any of the drywall that we paid for. Then we went back to the guard shack and were told we couldn’t leave unless we signed the tablet saying we took zero items. We went back into the store found a manager and explained what happened. She didn’t believe me when I told her the guy at the back of the store said the invintory number was negative two and still charged us. I then told my 7 year old to explain it to her. He then said exactly was happened and she got mad and angrily told me to stick my card in the machine to make this process faster. I asked for a cash refund because she said it would take 7 to 10 business days for it to process. I told her she should hire my kid because he’s obviously more competent than anyone else working there. This was a waste of an hour of driving time 16.00 in gas in my truck and we spent over an hour at the store waiting for them to un*k this mess. Horrible customer service. Went to Menards in Sandusky to pick up the balance of a vinyl siding order that was placed online. Young gal at the guard shack let me in and gave direction as to what building the siding was in, there was no one in the building. Walked outside into the yard and found and flagged the tow motor driver Steve, who explained that you had find and load what you bought yourself. Steve was so nice and helpful he found the balance of our order and loaded it using the tow motor to my trailer. Drove to the guard shack and the young gal looked over my paperwork and said it was wrong because one form said it was from the Cleveland store, she said to go inside and get the form changed to Sandusky so she can scan the paperwork and release me. Went inside the the store to the building department and encountered the most rude older man that would not listen to what i had to say nor look up my online order in their computer. He insisted the order was placed in Cleveland, was argumentative and refused to look at the receipt i had on my phone from paying online. I insisted to speak with the manager who came and finally looked in the store computer to find my order and gave me the correct paperwork so the guard attended could scan said paperwork and let me go on my way. I wasted 90 minutes trying to pickup the balance of my siding order, next time I will purchase...

Going to try to command me to be fearful of this propaganda media machine? you have lost a customer for life and anyone that I speak to I will make sure they know my opinion of a store that tries to make me kneel in fear. if I thought I could get away with posting a picture of my middle finger here I would. I am disgusted. If people are wearing masks how does a person not wearing a mask put them in any danger??? What is THEIR mask for anyway??? SHOW??? DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW MUCH HARM YOU ARE CAUSING PEOPLE'S IMMUNE SYSTEMS BY NOT ALLOWING THEM TO GET THE EXPOSURE THAT THEY NEED TO THE EVERYDAY PATHOGENS IN OUR ENVIRONMENT??? you are contributing to the weakening of people's immune systems under the guise of safety.

I had to take a little time to internalize what happened at Menards earlier. I had to actually process exactly what happened to me.

I was discriminated against at Menards today.

I was a minority.

I now know what that feels like. And I have to tell you that I'm pretty effing angry. if there is some social reason for Menards to discriminate against you and you are in the minority... Believe me when I say they will absolutely pass that policy and they will absolutely adhere to it.
