They have UNQUESTIONABLY the BEST TAMALES EVER! (Not to mention they are the size of small submarines!) Thier SALSA is so good that I eat it like soup when no one is looking! (Thank goodness for home delivery!) The service is phenomenal, everyone is friendly and goes above and beyond to make sure you have THE BEST FOOD FIESTA you can imagine! (They kinda make me wanna do a little "Happy Chair Dance" right there in public!) And...last but not least...their PRICES ARE WICKED CHEAP!!! (It's like paying for a generic hot dog at the gas station but getting the finest steak at the finest steak house!) You cannot truly experience Sandusky without treating yourself and your family to this little nugget of SCRUMPTIOUSNESS! (it's the perfect place for parents and spawnlings to actually enjoy dining together since they cater to all ages!) THANK YOU CASA REAL for treating us to THE BEST OF MEXICO!

I wanted to love it, as I'm always on the search for Mexican food that reminds me of the tastes I enjoyed visiting family there. Seating and service was fast and friendly, chips were crisp and well-seasoned, and while I prefer a spicier salsa, Casa Real's was flavorful and balanced. Regrettably, I could not say the same about the Huevos con Chorizo. The Chorizo was rather bland and processed into a too smooth texture, with the eggs almost non-existent. The Mexican rice proved to be a bit dry. Redemption was found in the refritos, which were pretty good. All-in-all, I can make this comfort food better at home, with fresher ingredients. That said, though this particular visit disappointed, their friendly service has convinced me to give them another try when I am next in town... and I'll ask the server what they recommend.

Came in and were greeted by friendly staff, our server handled everything quickly for us. Salsa was good and fresh, chips were good, cheese sauce had a good consistency and had a decent flavor. Tamale was good, chimichanga was good, poblano was good and seemed freshly made not store bought. The burrito was not something I enjoyed, it had what seemed like marinara sauce on it and I just couldn’t get past that. Over all not the best Ive tried but not horrible. The pineapple dish was similar, good but not something that really made us say wow. The atmosphere of the place was nice, bathrooms could have used some cleaning.

Can I give MORE than five stars?? Several of us were in town for a convention back in May. We had been in town all week and were worn out by the expensive prices and not-so-good food at the convention center. So we elected to venture out of the resort for some Mexican food.

AM I GLAD WE DID!!

The reviews looked solid, so we landed on Casa Real. It was small and busy - oh, and COLD outside. We walked in, and the front area was packed. We put our name down, and they said 45 minute wait and asked if we could wait in our car or outside. Like fools, we waited outside. In t-shirts. In May. With a 48° temp and decent winds.

After about 20 minutes, I walked back inside to see if we were moving up the list. This happened several times before the wait staff said, "You've been incredibly patient. I'll get you in next." That was a surprise, but she could see that were cold. : o)

Now we could've gone anywhere else - Mexican food or not - but we were hell bent on Mexican food at this location. We could not understand why it was so busy. Many folks came in, saw the wait time, and left. Then it occurred to me when I looked at the shirts of the staff - we were there on Cinco de Mayo! What fools! Of all days to visit the small, quaint location was the one day you probably DIDN'T want to go due to how busy they were.

But then we got in and got seated...

Explosions of atmosphere, pure comedic behavior by our server (shorter male who was from out of state), and the food! Man, as good as our food was - dare I say the best Mexican food I've ever eaten?? - the server just sent it overt the top. He was so, so good. Timing was impeccable, attitude couldn't have been better, and he was b-u-s-y with multiple tables. My go-to is always ground beef enchiladas and tacos, but this day I got street tacos with shrimp. The others got a multitude of options as well. Everything we had, we were incredibly happy with the results. We all kept just saying, "MAN, that was great!"

I would love, LOVE to have this in my hometown (many states away). But if I did, I would surely weigh in north of 300 pounds.

Highly recommended, very authenticate, and quite possibly the best place to eat...

In town visiting and saw this place had great reviews (I’m sorry but don’t trust them). I was so excited to have some Mexican food tonight and relax with my family. We ordered carry out and the one person we talked with was nice and fixed a problem we had quickly. The problem being they left off my jalapeño poppers even though the woman on the phone repeated my order back to me saying the poppers were on there. And I honestly wish they weren’t. They had frostbite and then burnt them to char on the outside. They were also somehow cold when they literally made them and walked them right out to me. My pastor street tacos were not only dry/ burnt but also not seasoned (my rice was cold too). 2 people in my party had ground beef in their dishes.. it was plain along with the rest of the food in the dish. The other one in our party did not get any tortilla shells for his fajitas (and you guessed it, his order was plain, dry and burnt). Honestly just super disappointed. None of it was authentic or fresh. It felt like a sad waste of money. Will not be back and don’t recommend. I also don’t often leave reviews but I felt this needed to be said. It would be different if I just didn’t like the flavor of the food but it felt they simply didn’t try as it all was overcooked, under...

July 4, 2022. My family and I went to eat at Casa Real. We were regular customers here, use to love going to eat there. How ever this day we got to the restaurant and it was packed with people. We figured we would have to wait a little while to get our food, never expected a two hour wait. After about an hour the waitress came by and told us that they only had one person cooking that day. Because we go often and we love the food we decided to wait. After two hours waiting for a meal we finally got our dinner. Only to find half of the stuff that we ordered was on the plate. When I questioned the waitress she told me that they were out of a lot of stuff in the kitchen. I figured they weren’t going to charge us full price because we weren’t getting a full meal. However to my surprise they had the nerve to charge me extra for sour cream. I had asked for the sour cream because they were out of guacamole and my meal was supposed to come with guacamole. My husband‘s meal was supposed to come with a salad and they were out of salad and never offered to substitute it with something else. I understand the situation like this happen however, After sitting there for two hours watching so many people leave very upset I would’ve never expected to be...
