Dollar General — Local services in Petersburg

Manager "training" coworker, I was next in queue, I place my items on counter, say "Hi, how are you?". I am completely ignored, try again, still no response so I give up on greeting her. I try inputting my phone # into keypad and screen jumps to payment mode, I ask, "Can I please input my phone number?" Still no response or acknowledgement, I try again, no reaction, I try 3 times to be polite and even toned - I do finally speak over her and raise my voice, "May I Please put in my phone number?". She snaps at me that I don't have to be rude, that she is "training" her coworker. The training in question was her ignoring guests and rambling about how not to copy SSN's and talking about what not to do in regards to admin. She is training this coworker to not interact with customers and blatantly ignore them to the point of having to raise your voice to be heard. I am soft spoken, so I will say between her talking nonstop and not looking at me I do suspect she genuinely didn't hear me because she was wearing a Samsung earbud in addition to...

Always friendly staff and definitely one of the cleaner dollar general stores I've been in here in the Midwest. The manager could definitely be friendlier and more helpful to both customers and employees. Lately they haven't had the things we normally pick up from here which is disappointing because it's been over 2 weeks of waiting with no success.... but I will keep the faith. Small town stores are a need to many of us so if a grouchy manager and a few empty spots of the shelf is all I have to deal with I'm positive I can withstand...

Everytime I go to this store all I get is problems. This time was the worse though. Basically made to feel I am lying and it is my fault. The register was acting up. Manager told me it didn't go thru. I went out and checked my EBT app. Shows money was taken. I tried to talk to her and explain but got treated all fake again. She gave me numbers to call. Guess what? More run around. Now told I have to wait 2 days for them to have it show if they did charge...
