China Ocean — Restaurant in Petersburg

The food here would standout in any location. I was visiting family in Petersburg this last November 2018, when it was suggested we to go to the Chinese Restaurant there. Well, I figured it would be run of the mill strip-mall food. Sort of warmed over canned Asian food.

I eat Asian food a lot, and this is good stuff, fresh full of flavor better than most similar Chinese places. If you are in or near Petersburg Il, you should eat here. The price is fantastic, the food all tastes wonderful. The Kitchen is very clean and had those great looking woks.

I have the same thoughts about nearly every restaurant like this. Please provide better plastic-ware. Although I can use chopsticks, many people don't. Better utensils would make eating more enjoyable. I know most of the food here is taken out and eaten at home.

I was disappointed that there was no Green or Olong tea. I thought that would be nice and Petersburg might try those. In-spite of those thoughts, I'd love to have the food again, too bad I had to...

I have never had better Chinese food in my life, and I have had Chinese food in multiple countries (Ireland). First off the service is unmatched; No matter how much you order from here it only takes 15 minutes to be ready for pickup. Secondly, I believe you can truly taste the love and passion that goes in to this food. I could literally taste the blood, sweat, and tears that the fine folks at China Ocean pour into their culinary creations. I have never fully understood what they are saying to me over the phone but it’s the first time I feel like I’ve been listened to in years. My wife has legitimately never been satisfied other than eating the food from China Ocean. If I could buy stock in this...

It is not the best Chinese food I have ever had, but it is very good, reliable, and the people who run it are absolutely the best. The prices are reasonable, the portions allow for a meal and two leftover lunches, and the vegetable mei fun is the best I have ever had, period. The spring rolls are a little hit or miss, but the crab rangoon is quite tasty, if you like a thicker casing. All in all, Petersburg is very lucky to have the restaurant, and it competes quite favorably with most of the Springfield Chinese...
