I was there for the Grand Opening! Everyone so very nice! Hello how are you! Let us know if we can help you! Tell all your friends about Renfroās! Etc etc For the most part, they have been a pretty good store. You have a few store employees who are not so friendly and a few cashier who are so miserable, they just need to move on! However, I knew which ones to avoid on my shopping days. Due to an illness, I do all my shopping early morning or mid mornings, when not so many others are shopping. so I never knew what time the store closed. On Friday April 28th, I had some documents I needed to drop off at my bank in Eufalua. Soā¦got off work at 5 drove to Eudalua dropped my paperwork in the night box and headed back home. I needed groceries so decided to stop at Renfroās. I was so glad to see only a few cars in the parking lot. There were a few employees getting off work however, I never thought the store was closing. Checked for times on the door, I did not notice anything listed. As I was putting on my masker, a gentleman passed me and asked how I was doing, I stated fine. There was a cashier and 2 bag boys present. I noticed the deli was closed. Not unusual due to most all stores close their delis and bakery between 5 and 6 . So on to shopping! I am out of everything! I make it to the pet food section heading down toward the front of the store . I am assuming it was the manager who spoke and asked was I finding everything I need. His tone and look were not ugly but serious. Heās looking at me hard with a look of question on his face. I answered yes. I want to say he stated they were closed but to take my time. I was shocked! I repeated yāall are closed? he said yes. This is weāre I start apologizing! I told him I would hurry, he repeated to take my time but you could hear and see, there was no genuine tone or meat in his words. I grabbed dishwater liquid and headed to the one cashier. She seemed to be texting on on her phoneā¦.. she had no greeting for me nota word! Not a smile not even a glacĆ©. I told here how sorry I was⦠still no words or look. By this time I am feeling the unwelcoming vibes coming from all. When I ask what time they close. In a tone of frustrationāand no look or glance she says, ā the same time we always do each and everyday dayā she proceeds to give me the store hours. I apologize once again and explain myself againā¦.ā went to my bank⦠never been here in the eveningā¦ā not a word from anyone , the manager still staring with the same questioning look. The cashier still has not made eye contact and the young man bagging my groceries has yet to say a word. I pay and try my best to get out as quickly as possible. As the young man is pushing out my groceries. He states he has to bring the buggy back, I ask him why they did not tell me they were closed when I first came in, he says, āwe canāt, itās not allowedā. I think to myself, it would have been best for all of us if you had. Yāall just lost a Good Customer! I handed him all the loose bills in my purse said I am sorry one last time. He says nothing until I give him the money⦠Thanks is his reply. I of course finish up my shopping at another storeā¦same empty parking lot with 2 employees leaving.. this time I ask if they are closing, ā oh no mama, we stay open until 10:30. He was smiling when he answered me!! I know I am welcomed here! I spend $68.00 more dollars to the 46:00 I spent at Renfroās to complete my groceries list. I leave the second store knowing I should have never stopped shopping here in the first place!! Welcome Home Rhonda...

This is my absolute favorite grocery store! I think that they do a good job weeding out the bad staff and keeping the good staff. My pet peeve at any store is not being greeted by the cashier. When they do not greet you or thank you for shopping at their store it makes me feel like the store doesnt care about my business. I have only had this happen once here at Renfroes but I have not seen that cashier since. I believe that management does try to hire the best people! Speaking of best people, the bakery staff is wonderful and will go over and beyond to make their customers happy! If you happen to throw a last minute request in, they will figure out how to get what you need right! They are incredible problem solvers! I love this grocery store! If I could score them, their fabulous rating would be off the charts! We are thankful...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe last thing you do is disrespect someone mother, especially right in front of their sonās face! I had a troubling experience at this location on 10/16/24 around 5 PM. The heavier-set African American cashier was incredibly rude, speaking and looking at my mother in a disrespectful manner. It's disheartening to see that so many reviews mention poor service, and this encounter certainly confirms that.
Given the already high prices, customer service should be a priority, yet this cashier made us feel unwelcome. My mother is kind and deserves to be treated with respect. I can't help but think of others who might not speak up or stand their ground in similar situations.
I told that cashier, I donāt appreciate the way youāre treating my mother, gave her the middle finger and left. Management should seriously consider addressing this cashier; it's unacceptable and she obviously doesnāt care...
